I find it interesting how people can just go around and be all "The song is disgusting cos the lyrics obviously mean this". I thought the song was about someone who had a friend who was struggling with addiction to something, drugs, alcohol, or whatever, and how it transforms them/sends them down the path of ruin. "Monster for a friend" "I noticed it's there" "It's always insane" and so on. So you could say that it's positive in showing the negative effects of something. But hey. Everyone sees things differently. :)
