Exlactly! I know how do you feel mate!!! It was the same to me!!! A friend of mine showed me the Utopia Song and then BAM! Instantly fall in love with Katie's Voice! Rest is history! Such a underrated Group! I can not believe it! I can not stop listening to their songs till today! Thanks Katie!

Joachim K. Indeed very cute and fascinating. I bet she wears the trousers and mind-controls you with her stern expression to always take out the garbage. :-) I'm totally mesmerized by this band and the awesome twins since their Cologne/2012 performance, especially the one to the left (with the black-yellow clothes). Just wasn't able to figure out yet if it's Sari or Romy. Twins should wear name tags. If I was 25 years younger, I'd for sure have put a poster of hers above my bed.

@@IndividualFreedomNet That's Sari. She's the more "free-flowing" one of the two. Usually easier to tell them apart when they don't wear headphones. And yes. Mesmerizing.

Their brilliant! I find it so interesting that her voice is so loud and clear yet her face barely moves compared to most singers, almost like its delayed.
@exclvsiv8 жыл бұрын
that's what happens when you have a classically trained vocalist.
@scarletpeoni93478 жыл бұрын
bruh do you even? So moving of the mouth shows lack of training? interesting.
@exclvsiv8 жыл бұрын
not necessarily, iirc mouth position and facial posture is extremely important for intonation and tone e.g. cheeks lifted and lips slightly pursed and firm. unnecessary wideness of lips is a common mistake untrained singers make (including myself as I don't sing professionally at all! haha) listening to austra's music for the first time I instantly knew the singer sang opera or something, and it figured when I searched them up and the singer was classically trained!

18.55 and on is my favorite Austra recording. I like this live version (helped of course by video) better than my purchased digital release. The bass and drums so clear. KEXP introduced me to them a few years ago, and for that I am grateful. I haven't seen much of them recently on KZbin.

Old skool video editing where the editor just jump cuts a clip of whatever that doesn't coincide with what's going on in the song. Like at 4:00, it's the the vocalist doing the "w'hooooooo hoooooo uuuuuuu ahhhhhhh" from the end of the song. Yeah, people in general are stupid and won't notice much, but musicians that watch the videos do notice things that don't match up. Remember the Cure on Top of the Props where Smith is playing guitar on a bass with the strings falling off or Gallop playing bass on a guitar with the strings so loose they are falling off? For the Cure, it was a protest against miming for the video. While this isn't mimed, the video editing does a disservice to the song.
