The Communication Legislation Amendment (Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill, will require foreign owned social media companies to censor mainstream Australians to the satisfaction of Canberra-based politicians and bureaucrats under the threat of massive fines.
You cannot have a functioning democracy if one side of a debate is silenced. That’s exactly what will happen under the federal government’s proposed laws, which will supercharge online censorship and empower biased ‘fact-checkers’, who have proven they cannot be trusted to be impartial.

Some people blame these Censorship Laws have come about to protect children but now they attack the ordinary citizen. Parents should be there to protect their children from various SM content. If these new laws come about, I could be in trouble for voicing my beliefs. I dont want a NANNY Law to stop me from voicing my opinions if they they are discussed in a reasonable manner. Nowadays I think, people tend to forget that the words have got a meaning and their actions have got some consequences. An uncontrolled freedom of speech can crush a person's life. As my father used to say to me when I was a child : "Before you talk, turn your tongue seven times in your mouth". That expression is quite common in my mother tongue, the French language. I have the feeling that people, who are the pro-free speech, don't like it when that freedom speech doesn't fellow THEIR requirements.
