“Straight from Issyk Kul” did I hear?? Hahaha… jokers. Great and informative video, Dave. I feel the same way about some of my local coveted spots in Brooklyn, NY! Great to hear these thoughts from you as well.

I live in Hood River and flying to Brisbane seems way more expensive than staying here. Also, water temp here is currently 2.7 degrees C, so Australia has that going for it.

All fair points.

Hood River does not have crocodiles or sharks, or people with weird accents, except for an occasional Canadian.

Great video as always! Interesting to hear the Art Pro 1051 was too fast for the bumps and you opted for the bigger spitfire. I thought fast was always good in the DW world, having the option to follow or overtake. How do you think a bigger Art Pro like the 1401 would’ve worked?
@davewestfoils11 ай бұрын
Way too big for the 1401. In DW ocean runs faster is usually better but if you’re not matching the speed of the bumps you work way harder. Faster is definitely not always better :)

How did you go upwind for several runs?
@davewestfoils11 ай бұрын
Paddle back up. Current is heading upwind so it’s pretty easy.
