Thanks gents for your thoughts on gun control in oz and overall I can agree with your guess , as an Australian I can add and correct some ambiguities mentioned in your report , our political system is made up of two political streams , liberals centre right and labor centre left , there is not much difference between them and it’s mainly around execution of policies , for example our liberals is like Democrats in the USA as opposed to republicans . The political stability makes Australia one of the worlds most popular destinations for foreign investment and immigration. Another point it seems that you imply that Australians need funds as they fear of wild animals in Australia. For example we have 10 out of the 10 most venomous snakes in the world and we have 2 to 3 people who die from snake bites per annum and usually it’s a result of the person trying to catch the snake or kill it . I myself with family or fiends regularly travel around Australia 4x4 off the beaten track and sleep with no tent as up north it’s usually warm and never had any issues , snakes are more scared of people . Also you do not put your hand somewhere In a hole or a dark shrub , it’s common sense . Also with spiders , ever since anti venom came in 1981 there has been no deaths from spider baits , once again they are more scared of you and don’t stick your hands in a pile of old rubbish . In terms of other animals , well kangaroos , perenti, emus , or koalas are not going to attack you therefore we don’t have animals that are like lions or tigers or bears that you need a rifle , so please your reference to that is not accurate . I have friends who have guns and I shoot as well but often they just go for rabbit or wild pigs or if really desperate for campsite bbq then maybe some wallaby or a small kangaroo . The proportion of Aussies who hold gun licence has fallen by nearly 50% since port Arthur but the ones who hold a licence it’s increased to about 4 per licence , please note we have historical category and some of my fiends have about 8 as they are collecting and admire just looking at them . Also Australians we do not subscribe to USA approach to guns and there is little tolerance for that . The shooters party never got a candidate in federal government as they only managed about 1 % and in NSW yes they win 2 seat in the far west but due to disagreements with the shooters party they became independents and overall they only picked up 1.50% . So all in all there is little acceptance and your guest mentioned Katter party , they have one seat at Fed level revolving around bob Katter based on his farming support and two seats at state level in Queensland. Thats agricultural seats , they will never win in the cities where the big numbers are . Originally when the shooters party was set up they could not get numbers , so they joined with fisherman to get more numbers and then with farmers as they struggled to get the numbers and to this day they make some noise but are fringe elements . Przykro mi to pisać, bo zwykle bardzo lubię słuchać wywiadów na tym kanale, ale tym razem było: chaotycznie, niemerytorycznie i nieobiektywnie. Pan Krzysztof ewidentnie nie ma pojęcia, o czym mówi. Posługuje się językiem całkowitego laika w kwestii broni i dokonuje daleko idących uogólnień. Coś na zasadzie, jak pozwolimy, żeby ludzie mieli nieograniczoną ilość samochodów, to z pewnością będzie więcej wypadków. Tylko że ciężko mieć wypadek (np. przekraczając prędkość) więcej, niż jednym samochodem na raz ;)

Australia wbrew pozorom to dzisiaj kraj ludzi względnie bogatych. Ale w kraju gdzie jest duża ilość jadowitych i niebezpiecznych zwierząt wołałbym mieć jakąś za paskiem. Polacy w takich miejscach raczej pracują fizycznie gdzieś poza miastem.
