@M1ntt806 i somehow disagree with you. Some of the tests were very closed and could have gone our way if we had balanced team. Indian think tank went with either a bowler who can bat or a batsman who can bowl with Sundar and Nitish Reddy. We should have selected Akashdeep and Prasidh Krishna earlier and played Ashwin or Jadeja. Australian batting was fragile we gave them time to recover when Bumrah and Siraj off attack. After NZ loss our management become more anxious and kept on changing teams and making more and more blunders.

It is quite a difficult situation for the Coaching staff. Being an ex-player himself, and not of the caliber of some of the current senior players, it is understandable that the coach is somewhat overshadowed by the players. The real issue is, as mentioned by Gavaskar, that there is, without question, a technical flaw which had been identified more than 10 years ago in the series against England, and those exact same errors continue outside off-stump as seen throughout the Australian series. The solution is that the players must go back to domestic cricket and through repeated performance demonstrate that the technical issues have been resolved and that they are performing better than any other player knowing on the door. This can be done by hiring coaches that have superior strategic planning and an understanding of game situations and requirements. Those that have a lesser chance of being overwhelmed by the "star" value of the existing players. Selectors should also be picked on the same basis and not ex-players which brings in far too much bias. Very disappointing performance overall. Especially when the T20 team is registering scores that would be respectable even in Test matches. Lastly, players should not be permitted to pick which formats they want to retire from and which not. They either retire or they play where selectors see them to be best suited.

Collapse of India started as soon as squad was announced by selectors in the mid of New Zealand series for Australia. Who on Earth would have made Rohit Sharma captain for a Overseas series like Australia whose record in test matches is pathetic and secondly after New Zealand series it was clear both Virat and Rohit need to be rested due to poor form and lack of real match practice. In the bowling dept, no Arkshdeep, Axar patel and Kuldeep. The entire squad consisted of star celebrities, out of form players and multi-millioners. It looked like India has sent the team to promote Australia tourism with selectors like Ajit Agarkar also staying in Australia for entire tour. It was 5-0 defeat from beginning. Nobody thought Bumrah could make so much of difference and play all 5 tests with passion. That was not on the radar. With the help of Rain Gods and Bumrah 3-1 looks great in the hindsight. It actually should have been 5-0 defeat. If BCCI can sack all the selectors and team management who prepared this squad of 15, it will send right signal that scapegoats are not the players but the selectors who forget to do their job or incompetent to do their job. After the New Zealand series 3-0 whitewash, I thought GG would have learned some lessons in his coaching ways but his entire game plan and selection of playing 11 with making error after error in reading the pitch conditions from New Zealand series to Australia series shows he lacks knowledge to lead the Red ball test team. He should resign and move to coach only T20 and ODI format as last opportunity before sacking him if he fails in that too with his overreach and unpractical methods of error prone decision making. Solution to the entire crises is following: - Sack the selectors and Head coach - Sack Rohit, Virat, Siraj and Jadeja from test format as they do not mix with young players due to star status and big boots - Create specialized test format openers and 3rd and 4th player order player from Ranji. Those 4 players should not play T20 - Create bowlers who have stamina and speed to bowl more than 135 - 145 km/h with length and line accuracy rather than been flamboyant.. - Create some disciplinary rules on overseas tour like no family allowed, team bonding activities and treating all equals and evaluated alike for performance .
