Kat It was based on a rumor story that during 19th century a French solider was ordered to deliver a mail across the battlefield. He was riding the horse and encountered enemies. He had to fencing an enemy but another enemy shot his horse. He returned fire with his handgun. He later had to swim and run to his destination. It’s a sport that you do well in swimming, running and fencing when you were young but you do better in shooting, and riding when you are old. Very interesting sport.

The riding part either needs to be taken out or taken more seriously. It is painfully obvious that these "riders" don't spend anywhere near the time training for the show jumping section and the horse suffers as a result. Their seat is awful, their hands are not quiet at all, they clearly aren't counting strides properly, their balance is awful, and clearly don't have the acquired skill needed to be jumping at this level. They literally look like beginners and should be going back to basics. I know 10 year olds who ride better than this. Either these athletes need to take the riding section more serious or it needs to be cut, because those poor horses deserve riders who actually know how to ride a horse. And to think these athletes are considered olympic"riders." The real olympic riders are the ones doing it as an individual event. Those riders actually train to get to the level their at. These "riders" are literally the embodiment of "hey lets throw a random person on a horse and ask them to jump around a course. What can go wrong?"

wait this is the best pentathlon rider? she fell off and had many refusals in the riding and that’s the best athlete? the riding was very poor and she was totally off balance, any professional rider would not have those striding problems and not all of these issues.
