First, dancing isnt just choreography,and second, that what the judge did was nothing compared to what the shuffler did.

This is a show for talent. A talent is by definition a repeatable act. Choreography is necessary for a dance act in order for it to be repeatable. While I get the stance that people have on shuffling at the end of the day it just doesn't compete with performance arts. Simple. Look at the work that goes into a tango or similar spanish dances. Much much more sophisticated and worthy of a competition than shuffling. You may as well have said twerking should be considered a viable dance because it's expression. (that said woman has no self respect and just likes shaking her ass for guys to notice her as a sex object) But expression none the less.

Arts Imson In terms of repeatability? Yes. Do you go and see a live band expecting them to play new shit every single night? No. You don't do the same for dance competition and since that's the only likely time you'll ever see solo dancers live shuffling has no place there.

Regardless of how much you all will love it, on a dance competition or talent, whichever have you, Shuffling will never get recognized. 1. it's old school. Entertainment is progressive and looks for new things. 2. Other dances are more diverse in body movement and muscle control. Shuffling does take practice, but the concept behind shuffling stands on 2 core moves and judges will not be amazed by that, no matter if you've added some extra moves to make it seem like your own or not.

Shuffling takes actually ALOT skills (has to have rythm and step syncing the beat, making it appear to be smooth even though the floor is not like ice..) and stamina.... The judge making a fool of himself trying to prove the point is actually proving the point that it was much more difficult than he thought. Brian looked line an idiot on the floor. Plus he was trying to catch his breathe like he ran through 5x marathon even though he barely did a 40 sec "show" on the floor. Had it been just 30 sec more, I'm sure he would have fainted on the floor of exhaustion and needed CPR. Don't know why they employ talentless judge who was carried by other members in his own boy band . Nsync and Backstreet boys were much better anyways during those heydays.

in a way im kinda glad he didnt get through, 'melbourne shuffle', or 'trance dance/slide' as we called in in mid 90's, was never supposed to be commercialised, it was supposed to be enjoyed by those who had a common interest in underground trance and techno clubs in melbourne. i literally felt sick when i started seeing 'how to shuffle' videos appearing in the early 2000's and again when LMFAO used it in their music video even though 'running man' isnt the real shuffle imo. keep it underground.

Im sorry but who ever says Shuffling is shit is correct. Fact is so many different dance styles take shuffling and make it a basic concept to learn e.g. Break dancing. Break dancing basic moves are based off of shuffling the hard part is the moves on the ground. Shuffling is a basic dance and people need to notice this

I get if you think that the guy isn't good at dancing, I get if you find his style of dancing distasteful and that it's not real dancing, but then to get up on stage and mock this 16 year old teen and his art as well as get the audience to join in is not judging, it's bullying. Actually to an 'ordinary' person it would be considered impressive. However to someone who is into dance, whether it be a choreographer, a judge, or critique; even if it's just someone who watches "so you think you can dance" from their tv at home: it could be considered as you said:"very simple and basic". I've had a first hand experience on this with my grandparents, I showed them shuffling and they said it was neat, but that break dancing was better since there was a wider variety of moves.
