How about the road from Mt Dandenong to Heidelberg? It has this sort of delightful scenery and is about as wide, but is a “popular back road” to the Dandenongs for Melbourne’s weekend tree hugging set. It’s as busy as Bourke St, after knock off time on Friday…

Wow! What an amazing road! But two things come to mind: 1) I didn't see very many pull outs for passing and 2) the loose rock on the road indicates that it's seriously unstable in rainy conditions.

Curious to know just how much of the road is tight and windy. I'm guessing the parts through farm country aren't all that bad. I also guess that around Little River Gorge would be a bit treacherous.

+Ian Smith The Eastern approach to the bridge is the worst. School buses etc operate on the west side but not the eastern.

Do you think you could travel on this road in a 8metre long 18 ton truck. Bridge limit says 20ton. I'd be nervous as hell.

Did it once and once was enough. Passing sometimes requires one vehicle backing up to a bend where it's a bit wider.

Ffs I did that road in a fully loaded HiAce commuter with 750,000 kms on the clock. As long as I didn’t run into some 4WD clown it was a breeze.

wow that is amazing. I would love to drive it myself to be honest as long as you have your wits about yourself it should be fine. Is this a one way only for traffic. Cause you would not like to meet some other car along there at the same time.

Anything is better then rush hour. It's that bad I purchased a camera for the car because I was fed up of insurance company's going 50/50 . worked out well last week had a tree hit the car. I put it on you tube
