A walk through the Goldrush area of former theme park Wonderland Sydney / Australia's Wonderland, one morning before the park opened. You can have a good look at some of the rides in the area.

Why did I watch this video? It made me nostalgic and I really miss it now! I went there heaps of times back in the 80's and 90's. I recognised quite a few bits in that clip, especially the Bush Beast and the Snowy River Rampage. I also remembered the painting of the life size cowboys on the wall at timecode 1:44 with holes for the faces where you could put your faces through the wall for a friend to take photos of you.

They were filmed in 2004. When you worked there it was pretty easy to get in before the place opened :) Is there anything else you would like to know?

It wasn't left to rot per se, things were certainly upkept in order for the place to have some sense of looking like a theme park and make people want to come back. However there was not a lot of investment in anything too new (especially rides). There was a proposal to have a business park surrounding the park with the park kept in the middle, however I think by the end they decided to cut their losses and sell the lot.

Yeah I know I have been leaving a few comments on your videos but could you tell me the history of these videos? When were they filmed? and how did you get into the park before opening?

Were there any legitimate efforts by the new owners to expand the park significantly? There are rumors that they brought the park with a plan to let it fail and cash in on the land. I don't know if that could even be profitable. So was it left to rot or was there a good upkeep of the park?
