Aussies 2nd half and O/T was terrible. Couldn’t score a basket, low % plays, couldn’t even throw the ball in properly, frantic, felt like some players were trying to win the game on their own. Was frustrating to watch. Congrats to Serbia on their fightback, defence and composure.

The defence was haphazard at best, Thybulle was our best defender by far mainly because he can defend pretty much every position. He doesn't need to zone off on a particular guy. On an offense that went way too quick, Thybulle would have been able to adjust. One of the dumbest selection decisions ever to leave Matty Thybulle out of the team.

How do you lose when you have a 24 point lead half way through the 2nd quarter, which was already gone by the end of the 3rd quarter? The Boomers had beaten Serbia just prior to the Games, but choked big time when it really mattered. Won the first game and then lost 3 in a row. Very disappointing.

Once again, Australia has flopped it at the Olympics. Mills was so frustrating to watch in the 3rd and 4th quarter. He just kept forcing shots and everyone was standing around watching instead of rebounding.

Atrocious officiating, if you add up the "correct" calls Australia actually won by 7 points overall, thats calling the game down the line. Serbia called a timeout when they never had one, that should've been a tech foul and should be investigated.

From a German neutral who fell in love with the Boomers Tokyo 2021 & of course especially Patty --- this had little to do with the refs. Australia unfortunately has only themselves to blame. Giddey and the absence of Thybulle. Overall this game fumbled away the chance at a second Olympic Medal for the boomers. To be fair however , the Serbis squad just has more talent. But Serbs being Serbs --- like the Slovenians & Croatians --- they tend to only show up against the big teams. P.S. i don't like the format change. Years ago --- Basketball, Volleyball, Handball --- in each sport there was only two groups , and only the two group's best played for medals. If this format was reintroduced , there would be no quarterfinals and Australia this time wouldn't have made it out of the group stage. P.P.S. a bit sad Mills & Ingles won't play in Brisbane 2032.
