Though people say that Aussies were at their prime till 2010, I believe they still dominate world cricket as before. In the last 15 years they have won two 50 overs wc, one test championship, t20 wc and many more major accolades. Still some people believe that they are well past their prime. With both players added to the 2007 WC team along with Tait and Hogg Australia was simply a killing machine at that tournament. Had it not been for rain in the Super 8s against Bangladesh and shortened and light affected final they would've been the only team to win a WC bowling out every team in the WC like how they bowled out the World XI in all 3 ODIs and that lone test.

GIlchrist playing at 140 SR , resembled more like the present T20 batters. Australia thrashed the World X1 in the entire series. This match was World X1 best performance and at one stage with Sangakkara playing so fluently it seemed that world x1 might have a chance. But once he was out, their battling lineup crashed like a pack of cards. Btw, there was a Test match too, where the Australian team had Hayden, Warne, & McGrath as well and no points for guessing the winner. Australia won by whopping 210 runs. Lee was much more faster than Akhtar at that time, Lee bowled 150kmph+ most of the times (if you watched full matches) whereas Akhtar was like 140-145 kmph
