Couple of rules for driving on an autobahn: -if the right lane is free: use it -never (and i mean NEVER) overtake on the right side, except for the case when you are in a traffic Jam -you only may drive as fast as you want if their is a sign that sais so (the crossed out speed limit/the grey crossed out sign) -before you switch lanes, look behind you as the people may drive as fast as they wann -The lane on the very very right is only for people who have to stop due to accident or car failure and you are not alllowed to use it -just dont be dick

"before you switch lanes, look behind you" however, on the autobahn, don't do that like you usually would. only turn your head and watch out to the back from the corner of your eye. do not turn your torso as with the speeds involved even a little unintentional jerk to the steering wheel can have disastrous effects.

You can't really see if you are sticking to the right most lane on the Autobahn, but in the only front shot in the video, you were on the middle Lane with no cars in sight in the right lane. In Germany (and most other European countries) outside of city limits only the right lane is for driving and the others are for overtaking only. Rule of thumb is no more than 45 seconds without cars to the right of you, if you are on an overtaking Lane. Not sticking to the right lane results in a 80€ fine and a point in Flensburg (8 Points mean a driving ban in Germany). Also, 120km/h is indeed pretty slow for a non restricted Autobahn section 😁

@galier26 жыл бұрын
No. Ich bin ein Berliner can also be said by a Berliner. The sentence is ambiguous but the context makes it clear what is meant. As both senses ar more or less as likely, there's no oddness when hearing someone say it. It is possible to joke about the ambiguity but it has to be constructed. it is not automatic. To give a contrasting example in english. The word ejaculate nowadays always has a nasty meaning so it makes it very odd to read Sherlock Holmes and Watson ejaculating quite often in the books (23 times to be precise, but it only means “to dart or shoot forth; to throw out suddenly and swiftly, eject.” with no sexual connotation). So the oddity of an expression depends on the sense it has the habitually.

Working on an W123 and W124 Diesels is just such a pleasure in Comparison. They are built to be accessible for the owner,, supremely simple and straightforward. And given correct Oil Change Intervals and Valve Adjustment, a Million KM aren't even a stretch. Whenever I get in a new Car, and it Bongs and wishes me a Good Day, all I hear is a gentle "Fuck you, you are my Bitch now" while it gently reaches for my Wallet and secretly giggles at the Idiot who bought it. They just creep me out. Car Manufacturers seem to consider their Customers as the worst Stereotype of People. Shallow, Stupid and Morbidly Inept, to the Point that even giving them a Water Temperature Gauge or a Dipstick seems a Waste, and the Oil Pressure and Temperature are gone forever I fear as well. Nope, now everything is hidden under eternally ugly Plastic and all you rely on for Engine Information is a bunch of Failure Prone Electronic Sensors. But us obedient little Consumers are happy with that. We'll keep swallowing and swallowing, and there is no End in Sight, give us something to Swallow and we are happy. I also visited Lübeck a few weeks back, somewhere else that is definitely worth a visit.

I think you were sensible to stick to 120 km/h in the wet weather... The most right lane would have been the safest lane to do it in though... :) You are right, the beer in Germany does taste better than (most) Australian beer... Because it's not just about how cold it is, but how it tastes... (cold hides flavour) Latkes or kartoffelpuffer mixed with pizza toppings looks like fun...

I'm german to and here are my experience with german autobahn: the right lane almost used by big trucks and sometimes busses. they causes deep rins with theire tires and havy weights. so if it's starts to rain, this rins fills up with water and if you drive your car through this, you feel your tires "swimm" and spinning if you triy too speed up! aquaplaning ist the magic key!! and it starts at a speed 100km/h +!!! ceep this in your mind if you drive on the autobahn and you will be save! and don't listen to people saying that it's posible to drive more than 120 if it rains. they're crazy and didn't care of theire and other ones live!! german beer taste different as it will do in other countries because the brewer uses the purity law! I won't say that it is better, but it taste different, thats true! I tryed beers in danmark, netherland and england. and I found out ( this is only my oppinion! ) that it taste delicious too. the only thing that scares me in england, the cut the top of the foamcrown!!! we do you do this??? thats horrible! :-) potatopizza sounds verry delicious and I never get this before! so I think I had to travel to Quadlingburg and try it! ;-) I am glad to see more clips like that from you! please go on! see ya Holger

2:30 Tourists, PLEASE drive on Germany Highway right-most. If the right lane is free, like shown on 2:30, USE IT. (Allowing others to overtake you on your left, while driving the speed you feel comfortable) While on Germany Highway always overtake other cars on their left side = your right side. You should note, that (almost) all other cars will do the same. I know you did not made your drivers license in Germany, but please respect the law and make the highway safer.

That´s why there is no cupholder in european cars, when you drive 80-100 mls/h , there is no time to slurf drinks and eating dougnuts, if you need something to eat or drink, you stop at a "raststätte" , it is recommended for turists to stop every 2-3 hours, to keep the concentration up.

You are two really, really nice people, but I hate when people do this and as we drive quite high speeds this can be very dangerous if small cars want to overtake you and have to change from the far right to the far left and back while BMWs are driving 200kmh+ there (Overtaking on the right is forbidden). However, I wish you the best time here in Germany :) And ps look out for the grey circle with stripes (->no speed limits anymore) and have fun :)

People often think you may drive as fast as you want on the Autobahn, but this is only true if there is no speed limit of course. The delivery van and other drivers shouldn't drive that fast but then speeding tickets in Germany, especially out of town are rather cheap as long as you are not grossly over the speed limit (let's say 160 instead of 120...)
@szoszk6 жыл бұрын
160 instead of 120 is pretty serious. 1 km/h more and you got yourself a 1 month driving ban.
@HingerlAlois6 жыл бұрын
Well one might also mention that the speedometers in cars don’t show exactly how fast you’re going, they usually always show a speed that’s a few percent higher than what you’re actually driving. By law speedometers aren’t allowed to show lower speeds than what you’re driving but they can show up to 10% + 4 km/h too much. According to the ADAC on average the manufacturers show 4.7% too much, but it differs from manufacturer to manufacturer, e.g. for AUDI the ADAC measured a difference of 3.1% whereas for Nissan it was 6.2%. As a result if your speedometer says 120 km/h it might actually only be something like 114 km/h. www.google.de/amp/www.sueddeutsche.de/auto/verkehr-jeder-tacho-zeigt-die-geschwindigkeit-zu-hoch-an-1.3675876!amp

David Radtke Yes of course you can’t drive fast in Switzerland. If you drive faster than 200 km/h in Switzerland they can confiscate your car and it’s then the property of Switzerland... Not to mention that you might have to go to prison for it.

130 km/h is recommended speed-limit on the autobahn. There are quite large sections of the autobahn with actual speedlimits going from 70 to 120 km/h (normally - sometimes they go down to 50 but that's only at construction sites^^) but if there is nothing else written it's recommended speedlimit of 130 km/h. As the name says, it's recommend ... you can go as fast as the traffic allows. And really it's not much of a speed-limit but rather recommended speed xD At normal traffic on those sections 130/140 km/h in my experience is the speed you can comfortably drive on the autobahn. Like the normal traffic on the autobahn moves around that speed. So it's no wonder that driving 120 km/h you get constantly overtaken, cause general traffic moves at around 140 km/h.

You passed the finished line, where the standes are still standing on the right handed site. It was a high speed track with a hairpin corner 2,5km later (somewhere near that gas station) and the Autobahnkreuz before passing the standes where Corner 2 and 3. The old Motorhome still standing and that big parking lot have been the old pit lane. It was funny, to see you that excited. Have fun on your future journey's

I had to LMAO as you said the german beer has not that "beery" taste like the beer back home..and I totally understand your perspective...but in fact every german beer is brewed like it was brewed 1000 years ago...because there is a law since then and valid till today called "Reinheitsgebot" (=in english kind a like "Purity-law") which dictates which ingrediants and in which ratios these are allowed to use while brewing for having the right to call it a beer ....so german beer has the - authentic - "beery" taste...what ever your beer in Australia would taste like and no matter if someone like it or not....Well I know Foster´s but that´s it..and I wouldn´t recomment it to a good friend who loves to drink beer..there is nothing else to say from my perspective about Foster´s..and "no offence".. they are faster than the speedlimit, because most people stick to the +20-rule. as long as you are only going 20 kmh above the speedlimit (out of towns) you only have to pay a very small fee if caught (like 20€). If you are going more than 25 above limit, you get "points in flensburg", which can lose you your drivers license. So the left lane usually goes at 140 in a 120-zone or 150 in a 130-zone.

If you're not driving through a constriction site you can happily go 20km/h over the speed limit, fines are pretty mild up to that point (35€ for doing 20kmh over the speed limit, if I remember correctly), if everybody else does it, might as well go with the flow of traffic, just stick to the right lane if you're not overtaking and overtake only on the left side.

You don't have to drive 120km/h all time, in Germany we usually have a "Richtgeschwindigkeit" of 130 km/h, that mens, that you should drive 130 km/h but you are allowed to drive as fast as you want. You only must drive slower, if there is a sign that says that ther is a speedlimit. But usually there is no speedlimit on a Autobahn

Remember guys, the autobahn has a speed limit for I would say 60-70% of its length. Normal is 120, but people usually drive 130. If you want to drive 250k/h you have to look for the no speed limit sign. Google it!

Not really the case... in general all Autobahn are without any speed limit unless there is one shown. Due to constructions or weather situations some parts of the Autobahn will get some speed limits. In average it is 40 % which gets a speed limit either temporary (constructions ongoing , bad weather ) or permanently (dangerous area). Other then that there is no speed limit unless a speed imit sign is shown. A speed limit is over once the sign for no speed limit removed is shown or once you get an entrance to the autobahn and no speed limit sign is shown afterwards.

When you are able to travel you are able to pay for some hours on a race track for speed testing or maybe also do some safety car training on a race track, that´s interesting and action fun, too. So, your still welcome for a cool road trip. That clip is nice!

Many beers are cloudy. No beer is "freshly made" (its made by letting something rot) it is only local. In germany you wont get a "light" beer. You'll just get a normal pils or something along those lines.
