Same thing has been going on here in the US for years. Everywhere Murdoch shows up there is the inevitable rise of media personalities above the national interest. Certain countries have banned his network, they were smart to do so.

Why hasn't Murdoch been prosecuted under Australia's foreign interference laws, where a foreign actor has tried, either via covert or deceptive means, to "interfere in the political systems, military capabilities, trade and economic interests, intellectual property, community safety or democratic freedoms". The Murdoch press has certainly been guilty of several of these interferences.

So what Kevin is saying. If you have different opinion to him then there should be any manner of legal inputs until you agree with him. In this he wants a royal commission because someone else who happens to run a media business has a differnt opinion to him. Yep thats what we should do. Then we will only have 1 opinion and thats Kevins. Im pretty sure Kevin is ok with that.

Same coin of what? Media monopoly & strong-arming legislation to push his business interests? What news outlets does Kevin Rudd own? How does he stand to profit from this? On the one side of the 'coin' you have profiteering protectionist rackets being leveraged against national governments to have state policy be bent in your favour - on the other side of the 'coin' you have - -decentralised & independent media? -taking a huge political mechanism out of the hands of one man's political & business interests -ending the idea of a single media entity being a "kingmaker"? How egregious - surely one is truly the same as the other.
