Listening to the members talk in English is always such a trip bc they all developed an Aussie accent over the last 4+ years, except Han who was raised in Malaysia and has a British accent.

when i heard their company was debuting australian idols, AS AN ASIAN AUSTRALIAN FROM SYDNEY (thryre both from sydney) I FREAKED OUT. i couldnt stop watching them cuz they felt exactly like i was watching one of my classmates or a cousin of mine that were thrown into a boy band. it was scary how familiar they felt. especially after learning the suburbs they grew up in and hung out at with their friends before they went to korea. now there are much more australian idols in the industry but maaan felix takes the cake for the strongest aussie accent in the industry

Bang Chan was raised in Australia and moved to Korea at the age of 13, so he is native in both English and Korean. Felix was born and raised in Australia and barely knew any Korean when he moved to Korea at the age of 16 I think. They make their accents sound a bit stronger on purpose, in order not to forget it and as entertainment. SKZ put some English words or phrases in their songs here and there, but they have complete verses in English in songs "muddy water" and "maze of memories" (no MVs for both). For some songs they also have English versions: Levanter, Double knot (English version has a performance video - it is a type of MV), Domino. Some SKZ members barely speak English, but the majority is pretty good apart from 2 native speakers.

I've always noticed their accents leaking into their music. Especially Felix! Whenever he sings or raps in English, he has such a thick accent. I love it! And Chan too. Sometimes when he sings in English, his accent comes out and I think its amazing!

You'd probably really enjoy Chan and Felix's vlogs. Because their families are still in Australia if they have days off and the others go home they often hang out together. A lot of the other members are developing aussie accents too. Stray Kids have a lot of fun non-music content as well as great music. They do fun variety shows like SKZ Code or have a behind the scenes series called SKZ Talker. Checking out a more in depth guide might be a good place to start. As for music their most recent mini album was Oddinary and four tracks have music videos- Maniac, Venom, Freeze, and Lonely Street. They cover a wide range of topics and genres and should be fun to explore. I hope you enjoy.

The other members have also been pretty influenced by their aussie accent, especially Han, hyunjin, I.N. and seungmin since their English is already really good. But even the others since they're learning and they're always around each other the accent just kinda rubs off on each other lol😅 although idk why but Han's accent definitely sounds British for some reason

Just to let u know about another Australian Kpop idol. It's Jake from enhypen if u wanna check out the group and their music. Poor jake- fans really wish he could hang out with bangchan and Felix because his Aussie accent is so strong in the group that the other boys have trouble understanding his english.

Try their newest album Oddinary. It has 4 MVs: Maniac, Venom, Freeze and Lonely st. Each is different. Their most popular title tracks aside Gods menu are: Thunderous, Back door, Miroh, Double knot, Hellavetor and My pace. Also every one of them in different style and genre. Other than that I would recommend: Easy, Red lights, TOP, Secret Secret, Side effects, Cheese and (with aussie flare): Question and Mixtape4(broken compass) - street versions filmed in Sydney.

They are so much fun to watch. I recommend you always turn on the English subs on Stray Kids’ songs. Since they produce their own songs, their lyrics are always very meaningful. Please react to more of their MVs. You could start with their pre-debut song Hellevator, and then react to one of their latest songs like Venom, so you can get an idea of where they started and where they are now.

My recommendation is watch every single SKZ video out there. You can't go wrong, just watch them all! But I do have a suggestion though to 100% watch because you'd get a kick out of it! Watch and react to SKZ Code, it's a reality show they have on YT on their channel and it has english subtitles too. It's soooo much fun to watch! XD But watch all the videos of them talking to eachother and interacting with eachother, it's soooo great. They're more like a family than a kpop group.

Fwiw, yes, their accents do sometimes show up in their music -- nearly always in the English lyrics, but also sometimes in bits of the Korean lyrics. And as others have mentioned, their accent has leaked over to the Korean members. One sounds more British because his English background was from years in Malaysia, but he does sometimes veer toward Aussie; and most of the others have some blend of Aussie and GenAm. I don't know how deep you get into groups and their content, but they traveled to Australia several years ago, and Chan and Felix played host to the others, showing them around, taking them to favorite spots, even filming two of their street MVs there (Boxer and Mixtape 4). So we have footage of them in Australia (much of it in Sydney) in both MVs and in episodes of one of their (many) reality shows, Finding SKZ. There's also a well-known clip of Chan's and Felix's reactions during a concert in Australia when they were finally overwhelmed with the emotions of getting to see their home after years away. Chan left Australia by himself and came to Korea as a 13-year-old, and Felix left by himself at age 16; for both, their only residence in Korea is the dorms. They have no Korean "home," so to speak, and both refer to Australia as home (which is reasonable; their families are there, and both are single-citizenship Australians who are and always will be considered and openly referred to as "foreigners" in everyday life in Korea). Chan has more than once mentioned that Felix is basically "home" to him and that Felix joining the company after years of Chan being on his own was something of a lifeline. And Felix, who spoke virtually no Korean and wasn't well versed in the cultural differences, found a similar lifeline in Chan when arriving at the dorms as a 16-year-old. They go beyond the Korean conceptualization of brothers/hyung-dongsaeng relationship and genuinely refer to each other as brothers; Chan calls Felix his Australian little brother and his soulmate. In other words, that extra connection of sharing an origin, a culture, an ingrained set of shared background experiences/references -- which you yourself mentioned feeling to some degree -- is hugely important to both of them. Anyway, finally being back home after years away, starting as kids away from their familiies, they both broke down a bit. The Aussie audience had their backs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJfPmmmOfqajb80. (If you watch this, please don't be confused. At the time, they still had all nine original members, so they keep referring to them as a total of nine; as of October 2019, Woojin's departure, they are eight.)
