They'd be about 1000 - 1200 litres, not gallons....that would be a LOT of fuel otherwise !! You can load a single trailer semi to around 42.5 t gross for truck and trailer here ( possibly slight variations amongst the states ? ), and from what I can tell, USA allows 39.5 t. We probably just have a slightly lower axle limit.

Thanks. I've still got a few more to come. Unfortunately to film this stuff requires a 2000 km return drive just to get to where they start running the triples, so it's not something I get to do a lot.

WOW! I notice these tractors carry what appears to be 1200 gal (US) of fuel. Would that be correct? I would suppose this is because of low population density and distances between fuel stops on a transcontinental trip, I also notice the axle increase on the rigs in comparison to North American standards. Is this due to lower axle loading or increased load capacity?
