I read somewhere the other day that the NRL has actually dethroned AFL as the most watched sport in Winter. And your right about the Barrissi line, but Cricket is still popular all over Aus and so that is still the National Sport.

personal preferences aside the AFL is clearly in a tier above the NRL. The numbers don't lie. More people attend AFL games, more people become members of teams. There is more money being made in the AFL. It's just a better run competition. I'd put AFL as best NRL as good. BBL is middle. It's still easily the biggest summer sport competition, though it's not quite as big as winter sports. NBL middle feels right. A league is clearly bad. No money being made in it. We cannot attract good footballers to compete in this competition, nor can we retain up and coming Australians.

I agree but where I am from AFL is not popular at all in Sydney,it's my opinion and in Sydney where I am from GWS only get around 5-10k every week for a game which isn't that good.I know Melbourne,Perth,Adelaide etc. get a lot but it's my opinion.

NRL and AFL are the best sports in Australia tbh but the NBL and the A league are not as big that is probably why both of them are not popular, i don’t watch cricket it doesn’t interest me as much, there is Baseball in Australia too but it was rarely televised called the ABL i think it was called 🤔, i seen it on tv one time but it hasn’t been on since maybe because it wasn’t even that popular, Netball is not getting popular ether

The basketball is popular in Australia we have a lot of good talent our national team is one of the best in the world alot of players in the nba have came from Australia and played in the nbl afl and nbl best for me my 2 favourite sports afl and basketball

Yeh i get it but the AFL and NRL are both way more popular then the NBL.I am talking about the league not the popularity of the sport itself.The Boomers also did poorly at the Olympics.

I went to a BBL game last year at Marvel Stadium. Capacity is over 50 000. If it wasn't sold out, it had to be damn close.. So, you are wrong about people not going to the BBL anymore....

Some games don't get that much viewership and BBL is declining over the years.It is still popular but 5-10 years ago it was way more popular compared to now.
