bloody good idea. To scale up, use an old oil tanker - filter the water through one tank and store the rubbish in the other tanks.

This is what real environmentalists should be worrying about. Cleaning all the crp out of the sea and not trying to tax citizens of oxygen.

@Michael o'donnell Seabins can't clean the seas. The need to be within 6 meters of an electricity supply point. Read the specs. seabinproject.com/the-seabin-v5/technical-specs/ It seems Seabins give you about an extra meter of reach compared to a traditional pool-skimmer. On the plus side, you can fire the pool-skimming staff.

@@robotnoir5299 Relax mate. They have only been operating for approximately two years. Also, CN was saying at least these environmentalists are actually doing something and not disrupting, rioting and destroying city traffic, in addition to annoying tax-paying citizens.

Not outraged but not overly impressed, while by all appearances it may look like it is collecting minimal plastic around the local coastline it does absolutely nothing to solve the problems of microplastics or the fact that Asian countries are literally dumping thousands of tons of plastic directly into the ocean every day.

What a great idea, good luck with it fellas. Another good idea would be not to throw your rubbish in the sea in the first place!

why not just have the death penalty for littering??? no sea bin machine needed. simple. littering is the problem here.

Why do we need these when we have Indonesia? It's already the perfect sea bin.
@unrealone1

Why not use a large net and skim the entire surface of the water, this bin will take forever to clear an area of the ocean? A large net behind a boat will work a 1000 times faster.
@robotnoir5299
@robotnoir5299 4 жыл бұрын
You don't need a boat to compete with a seabin. You just need a long pole. They only work when within 6 meters of an electricity source, according to the specs. seabinproject.com/the-seabin-v5/technical-specs/
