One thing we're loving about water features in Australia is the amazing plant life that grows around the pond, waterfall, or fountain. Today's swim pond includes a wetland filter with gigantic elephant ears!

Of all the ponds shown on this channel, this is by far the most significantly natural looking one... I mean all the ponds look natural, but this looks like something you'd stumble upon in a tropical rainforest

All those tall plants around the edge really set this one apart for me. The view looks cool from the deck with the closer plants blocking the view to the distance and the taller treeline above that. Australia has some cool looking plants.

Started my build 17 Mar 23..... in Thailand. 4 meters x 2.5 meters and 1.25 meters deep. (13 ft x 8 ft x 4 ft)... Construction should be completed in a few days. About 12-14 days to get plants, filtration, rocks, etc to a swimming level. About a year before the surrounding landscaping turn into a jungle.

I just LOVE your videos. I'm a caretaker at a resort up here in the Cariboo of BC and I would love to be able to add one of these types of water features on our grounds. During the off season I would love to take a course to be able to do this. Do you have anyone here in British Columbia, Canada that teaches your course? I really feel this is going to be close to a movement towards getting people reconnected to nature. I share your videos all the time. Thank you so much for making them. So awesome to see someone who is passionate about their work.

Lovely to look at, swim no, as a kid I swam in our pond thinking life was great until I realised it makes the best snake pond ! Snakes love hanging around water catching frogs etc, I live in QLD Australia and it would be a nightmare to relax in that pool. In a larger more open version I might go in :)
@tegannottelling
@tegannottelling 4 жыл бұрын
Jestronix Handerson hi, thought I would fill you in with some info on snakes so you might see your way to imagining yourself in here. Snakes are very shy of humans. We are way too big to eat and they know this. They honestly don’t want to waste their venom on us, takes a lot of energy to make and snakes are the kings of saving as much energy as possible, not to mention if they waste it on us they may go hungry until they create nor or even in the worst case, starve. I live in the middle of the rain forest and have moved many snakes off the road, all they want to do is get away and if they don’t feel cornered that is always their choice. Use the escape route. My son has even trodden on a snake bare footed and it still just wanted to get away, didn’t even try to bite him but he was bare foot and felt it before he put his full weight on it. Snakes are really miss understood animals that do a great job of keeping the introduced: brown rat, feral cats etc under control especially in Australia. I had a red belly back snake that lived near my back step at my old place, we just used to step around it it was so used to us ( I think it died due to a cane toad 😞) I know people are scared of snakes because they are taught to be afraid, hopefully a little bit of knowledge can help alleviate that fear. If you see a snake just stay very still, it will honestly just go they other way, it wants as little to do with you as you with it ❤️😊

Hey, so this is just going to be about me rambling on for a bit, so bare with me. I hope you read this so you know how much you have impacted me. I have loved watching your videos and I actually have a pond of my own, when I moved in there was this pond, which is just liner and the ground and I’ve had to figure out how ponds work, when I was about 10. I don’t usually ask my parents for things and I work for it myself, and the same went with the pond, so I’ve had to work on a low budget. Well that got ruined last year when a tree fell in my pond ruining the liner and my pumps. I tried fixing the 5 holes that were in it, but I’m pretty sure it’s still leaking. So when I heard about your pond giveaway I was like “hey that would be cool to win” but after a while I felt it wouldn’t be as rewarding a “labor of love” if you will, so I’ve been planning out a new pond build, and I have been learning a lot from you and Team aquascapes videos. Although it’d be cool to win and learn from pros I would also like to build my own pond. When I turn 15 next month I am going to try and apply for a job at my only local aquascape contractor to make money and learn hands on before I start making my pond. Besides from what I’ve seen I think I would love it as a future job. Sorry if you read through that I am just very appreciative of you and everyone at Team Aquascape.
