huuuum... perhaps this movie was just entertaining to watch a first time , but compared to the 1989 one , it's sadly a different experience . Robert Dyke, the same guy who directed the first Moontrap movie, also really directed this , for some reason his style has dramatically changed. seriously why he didn't retake the ominous atmosphere and the gory effects which were presents in the first movie? why he put bad CGI effects for the moon environments , the robots and the ships? they looked more realistic in the original movie also , even the earth was in an accurate distance to the moon, unlike in this movie where it looks too closer. the story is much more complex also, and the acting is often more ridiculous. this is sad how people change in the 21th century. The first movie was really well directed despite its limited budget and its particular acting, it has a dark synth ambiance which has its charm , and had also fascinating alien architectures and ships but in this sequel, nada... i found this sequel less enjoyable to watch . it looks much more like a B movie than the first. that's sad how the potential is destroyed

We are crossing the river of time Milky Way as we speak. We live on a 1,000 mph west to east rotating planet. Co2 is not nor has it ever caused earth's climate to change. Temp is rising first and CO2 follows. Cause and effect. CO2 + H20 + Electromagnetic energy of the galaxy via the Sun creates life. Earth is a 4.5 Billion year old closed loop that self regulates by combining CO2 with H2O to capture EM energy of the galaxy via the Sun. Energy is neither created nor destroyed. On this planet. All EM energy comes from the Double Torus we call the Galactic Nucleus via the Sun to us. First, I was prompted to write this comment after someone responded to your comment saying, the movie blew and you did not know what you were talking about - which I was taking issue with. For whatever the reason, said comment is now gone, but here is my rebuttal. “Pretty solid” is a fair descriptor for this low budget flick, especially if one is aware that ‘pretty’ is an adjective and a synonym for the word ‘moderate’. A review to follow: “Moontrap received negative reviews from critics. The movie holds a 29% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.[2] IMDb gives the movie a 5 out of 10.[3] DVDtalk had a higher opinion of the movie, stating that for a low budget picture it often exceeds expectations. [4] In its review of December 27, 1989, Variety stated "Moontrap is a very entertaining though highly derivative sci-fi adventure ... this one's a goodie ... Moontrap is exciting and suspenseful."
Bruce Campbell too, just watched it a few days ago. Very well done, effects and acting was good.
