I love Djokovic but the best thing imo that happened is this match being scheduled(or started 10pm Melbourne time) no heat, no sun, a bit slower courts. This is all what Djokovic feeds on unlike his match with sinner last year at AO.

Alcaraz is so inventive, creative and complete in his physical game. Poetry, a joy to watch. Djokovic is more complete because of his mental game, he finds ways to be unpredictable, to exploit weaknesses, to learn what is opponent will do and hide what he will do from his opponent. Djokovic is one of the most intellectually stimulating sportspeople to ever live.
@chiefk5875 күн бұрын
When the match ended I was thinking this man has always been a master of deception.Alcaraz should hve known better not to lift the foot off the gas when he thought Djoker was injured. That second set was crucial, if Alcaraz had won it Djokovic would have retired.
@Telescope19944 күн бұрын
With all due respect I don’t see the poetry in Alcaraz, he is definitely a tremendous player and very mature and Likeble person for his age, however his play style I would not call it beatififul or anything close to poetic. Let’s leave that Box to players like Federer

What a win for Novak. Yes alcaraz was average at best but Novak really was in the mood tonight!

Agreed. Alcaraz' ball-striking wasn't noteworthy (it almost always is!) and shot selection IQ was mediocre (normally, he almost always hits it right where he needs to).

A couple of matches ago, I was reading many comments on how Alcaraz will beat Djoker like a drum and win in straight sets. I wonder where they are now... One of the very few times when I saw that Alcaraz (who is likely the most explosive and dynamic player currently, and one of the most charming!) was clueless against a master tactician in Novak. And haters still comment on Novak's play and approach to the game - they cannot wait for Zverev or Sinner to beat Novak and then come out in full force with their smarty comments.
