I didn’t know he was blind when we visited. I volunteer for animals in distress and once had a blind baby bobcat before it was transferred to his permanent care center. Sure enjoyed that little guy.

I remember watching Tigers About the House. And watching him and his brother Stripe (now called Clarence) play together. He was a adorable cub to watch.

Yes he was the more outgoing of the two. Born first, smaller and took 2 mins before he took a breath, but he soon grew bigger than Stripe (Clarence) and was the more confident and affectionate of the two. So glad to hear he is still living a happy loving life. He is such a handsome boy isnt he!!

This gave me tears. im so happy he's adjusted so well to be being blind. It devastating their are so few tigers out there in the wild due to poachers. It blows my mind there are such selfish and ignorant people out there who could care less about these animals going extinct on top of callously taking a life for the sake of a "trophy kill".

Interesting to see your keepers directly interacting with tigers, that is something that would never happen in the UK. I'm not sure if it's illegal here or if all zoos just agreed it was a bad idea, probably after a keeper being killed. I'm curious to know what the safety record of tiger keepers in Australia is like.

Laws are kinda up for debate in Australia. It's all about ethics, not too much about safety. Because he was raised it's ok,(safety wise) but it's the 'owners/keeper's ' decision in a zoo setting.

I wondered about that as well. The animals don't seem to be exhibiting stress from the interactions with their keepers, but it's definitely worth questioning the safety.

@@Vic-se1fz Because they interacted with humans from birth it is as safe as playing with a tiger can be. However some places (NOT Australia zoo) will drug the tigers so they are safe to play with.
