It's April-1-2020. Locked down in home. Watched this with my entire family and none of them played the game. Explained as many rallies as possible. To my shock they not only understood but re-watched it again and again for another hour with lot of discussions and arguments. Best time I ever had ☺️

How did I miss this match before? Both are so powerful, precise, tactical, fast and agile. In all, you have to be serious to really understand the reasons behind it. Footwork and angles are unreal. One of the best matches ever seen. Doesn't matter who wins....they are both great legends.

In terms of shot making there are certainly some more dynamic duos like the Xu Xin - Wang Hao rivalry which comprises of more contrasting styles,better use of angles and touch shots.Joo se Hyuk was far past his prime in 2014 suffering from autoimmune disorder. Obviously the best game of defense versus offense would be the 2003 WTTC final simply because of the significance of the match.In terms of actuall shotmaking Waldner's return in 2003 after a 9 month hiatus to demolish Joo se Hyuk takes the cake.

This match slovenian open 2012, world cup 2014, german open 2015 and the pro tour grand finals semi final 2009 (ttcountenance again) are probably the greatest matches. I believe most people relate to this match cause it was the first nail bitting final with comebacks from both sides that would show what was about to follow between these two players. Some trials matches on 2010, 2013,2014 and 2016 are also fantastic

One of the greatest matches of all time. Both players are Grand Slam winners (World Cup Winner + Olympic Champion + World Champion). Every time I watch this match, I always feel like ZJK and ML had some sort of agreement beforehand - no looping down the line. If you see them playing with other players they always change the direction of the ball from diagonal to straight line (which is super powerful and always comes unexpected), but not those two people. It feels like a dare contest, I dare you to never loop down the line, and I'll do the same. Let's do the exact same thing as we always do when we train together and let the person with most stability/precision win. Damn

Zhang seems to use his backhand a lot when he plays against players with powerful forehands like ma long. In the 2nd set ma got destroyed when he kept on playing the ball to zhang's backhand so he had to switch and start playing to his forehand and started winning more points.

ZJK got a higher stance, malong looks to input maximum pressure while ZJK is way more versatile and just dodge mlaong will to crush that ball close to the net. If you see them playing via coach cam you will understand I guess. Also zhnag got better positionning, but mlaong goes way more often deep on the table. That's definetly two different style for sure.
