Great vid! This model is amazing; Lego truly raised the bar with this one. After building this, the Sian and the SP3, I feel like Lego should have given the Defender the same type of exclusive treatment it gave the exotic super-cars: packaging, booklet/literature, presentation, marketing, everything. But then again, the super-cars are truly in a class of their own.

When I saw how many bags there are in the set, I thought,"holy crap, this is huge". I really love Lego technic sets, they are fun to put together, and the gears are fun to mess around with.

Exactly. It was fun to build but I had two problems, the first problem was the rear wheels not moving, I fixed that with relative ease. The second one is ALOT trickier and I still haven't fixed it.

This is an ABSOLUTE BEAST of a set, loved the color selection for each part, the detailed gearbox, the interior, hard to find a flaw in this awesome set tho still we need a fix for the gears cracking noise

This was such a frustrating build. I was missing at least 3-4 pieces about a quarter way through and then a piece in the engine came apart so I had to disassemble to put it back on place. At that point I was done. Most frustrating build ever.

Same - my rear suspension was totally collapsed and the drive shaft was completely missing even though this was my first lego Technic and I'm 11!

I just built this over the last 2-3 days. Think I went wrong somewhere since the suspension sags at the back. Safe to say Lego Technic is stressful 😅 Also found it odd that they didn’t really bother with much of an interior around the seats and it’s all just exposed framework around them.

Da gefällt mir der moc von brick future besser. Auch hat der moc 6 statt 4 gänge und das besser funktionierende getriebe. Er hat zwar 550 Teile weniger und auch die Stabilität ist nicht ganz so gut, aber das lässt sich verbessern. Bau den mal, gibt es auf rebrickeble.

Quick question before I move onto section 3. After finishing section 2 I can move the gears at the back to get the pistons to move up and down but when I move where the section where the back wheel will be no gears move. Is this supposed to happen or have messed up section 1?

Once I got my LR all put together and never thought there'd be any problems (ha, Shame on me!!) I put the wheels on, and in doing so, pushed the SUV a few feet on the kitchen floor only to expect to see the pistons in the engine go up 'n down... Nothing! I was suddenly frustrated and had to figure out what the H I did (or didn't) do!?!? Doing a GOOGLE Search, I came across someone who mentioned that if the main Differential grey (big) gear is parallel with each other, it won't "Crank" the cylinders. By removing the REAR wheels and angles, turning the differential gear around so they are opposite from one another, this will correct the problem. Problem: Fixed!!
