Out of white rods? We'll save on costs by sacrificing structural integrity somewhere else, just like a true project manager :P

If you have enough of them, you could use 2 white rods with a yellow rod and orange connector, referring to them by their standard colors, to hopefully keep its durability while only using half as many white rods. If you can, you could use the clip connectors along the edges and corners to make a series of flat panels which would connect together and allow for easy disassembly for transit. Apart from the main surface, I do that for my computer desk and it's been working well for over a year now.

Thanks! I do all the animation in Blender. Sometime after this project is finished, I would like to do a tutorial series for making K'nex animations in Blender.
