Autel Evo Nano+ on the Boise River in Star Idaho a Scenic Flight

I had not flown the Autel Evo Nano+ in quite a long time. I saw it sitting on the drone shelf and figured it was about time to get that bird in the air! I took the little drone out to Star, Idaho at the Star Riverwalk Park. I took a look at the very full Boise River.

Good job! That area around those two ponds is a large Park, under development. The "Star River House", a public meeting place/event center, is just adjacent to the Park. You weren't too far from our back yard had you continued in that direction, signal willing. 😏 I believe one of those "estates", on the other side of Star Road, is Butch Otter's home, but don't quote me on that factoid. Next time you're planning on being in the general area, give me a call and I'll join you, either as a fellow pilot or cameraman. Thanks for sharing. 😎

I like it when people return to this drone.... it flies like crap and has slow mutishots/pano.... But i actually kind of like thr oversharpened look. It looks REALLY GOOD on my desktop photos. Next to no editing. Had to come back to it when the fair was in town and the mini 3 pro wasnt available due to a crash repair.... its a good backup! Marcus you have to use this best look is always gonna be sunset/low light

I watched your 1 year old video on Nano+ return to home modes and the info was great - so I subbed. I bought a Nano+ flymore (3 batts, etc...) a couple of weeks ago and recently took it out of beginner mode and this week, flying with some more confidence in standard mode. I live within 5 nautical miles of an airport - but because of DJI imposed geo nonsense for sub250, I have to have internet connection (in the mountains) to take off. I'm in Canada about an hour north of the border of WA. I can fly legally without registration or license for commercial or recreation - very few restrictions - yet DJI requires blue zone auth (internet) for the sub250 Mini(s)

I don’t always fly my drones anymore, but when I do 9 times out of 10 it’s still the Nano+ that gets used. I prefer it to my MA2, better camera and better range.

I'm not sure, but I think the drone has to be in the air to get it out of Pro mode, and turn HDR on. But you didn't really need HDR, the video looked good. And I never felt turning on HDR on the Nano Plus made much of a difference. Nice test flight down the river, your signal seemed good. If only they would have came out with a second version that could fight the wind better. Thanks for sharing Marcus.

Hi Marcus, nice flight with your Autel Mini +. My testing shows the transmission of the Mini + to be superior to the DJI OS 3. The video of the Mini + is second to none. It has a great camera.

It’s really a shame that Autel is out of the consumer market. With a little more emphasis on improving flight characteristics they could have given DJI some competition which would have been a win for the consumer. Great footage from that camera Marcus. Nice flight!

Marcus, I still fly my Nano Plus a bit. Good to see you pull it off the shelf from time to time. Surely has a great camera but it's performance is way sub-par to my DJI drones. Don't use it much in the wind or anywhere there is a real challenge for it. Almost lost it several times for the strangest reasons. Thanks for sharing.

You where not in camera auto mode settings, that is why HDR was not available, You can see below that wb, shutter speed and iso is manually set so pro mode, not auto
