Autel IM508 Programming a used Jeep computer

1st time using the Autel IM-508 on a Jeep computer replacement. I'm use to my other programmer :)

Just did a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country with the im508 I transferred secret key then replaced WCM,required 2 new Fobik Keys then rewrote VIN information then car started.

Wow Didn't know my IM508 would do that thanks for sharing your experienc. Would that work for other Jeep Dodge Chryslers if yes how can you know on witch specific year and model? I'll be following your Chanel.

The 508 does a lot more then most know. The one way to know if it will do it, is to try it.

Wow and I'm sitting here struggling with mine on how to reprogram this 2019 Nissan Altima MAF replacement. It's not longer just plug and play, any advice on that? I just subscribed, wish I was in NY too get one on one training.

When replacing PCM on chrysler products is it just the skim that needs to be reprogrammed? I have a 2011 dodge ram with a bad pcm

You have to write your info to the PCM.

Was that an old key or a new key you just added? Can 508 program ECU for most cars including German?

I programmed a used computer out of a junk yard, I started with a new key. It can do some computers, not all.

@@locksny Any idea if the 508 can write VIN's to the early 2000's dakota / durango / ram PCM's, such as swapping in a junkyard PCM?

@@crash_override9435 shouldn't be a problem if it actually has a chip in the key

Do I need to wrote down the Vin number of the vehicle that im working on, or do i need to wrote down the vin number of the vehicle that i took the ecu/pcm from? Ty

You need the VIN off the car you're working on.

Interesting ! I'm looking for one for my 08 JK ..to replace my WCM module as well a PCM if need be .. I was thinking the 508 would do it and you basically showed me it would .. I was also thinking of just going up to the 906BT . I need one I could use on my 17mustang , 18 Subaru and my 07 super duty ..basic stuff like what you just accomplished .. the 608 comes with the j2534 I don't believe I need that because I'm not writing programs .

@@locksny What ever it's called .. I just need it to update the replacement hardware with vehicle information just as you did .. WCM , ECU, PCM , ECM ETC it's electronics sooner or later they going to fail , currently I'm replacing my WCM on the JK . So just need to replace it and I saw that function in your video .. When I checked autel website for vehicle support they listed the the 508 as IM508(immo) with no us Jeep available which was odd .

AutoProPad is still my go to. The IM508 is moving up the list fast as I use it more and more. I still have a SmartPro and a pile of other machines.
