Obstacle avoidance does work when in Ludicrous. The dynamics change for distances and all but actually it doesnt turn off. Only manually. Another curiosity... the obstacles sensors also have infrared so at night it still has good chances of keeping avoidance even in low light

At 4:15 when you are shooting the building with the LITE+ if you look at the lower right corner (closer to the center than the edge) there is a small VERY dim flare….Like the ones you get while using an ND Filter. It takes a while to see it but once you see it, you can’t miss ir. You don’t see that in the Air2s. Its almost like the LITE+ has a “built-in” NDfilter…. And May explain why the colors don’t look the same. The LITE+ always has that “hue” that I can’t describe… again similar to the hue ND filters add to a camera.. 🤔

To be fair, I know different sensors produce different colors… but they DONT produce flares… only glass produces flares, specially when you are not even filming the sun, just a reflection off a building

Thanks for the clear and concise image comparisons. I think Air 2s may have a image quality very slightly inferior to that of the Lite + in some scenes. However, the 2s does have a log profile. So I would say that the image qualities of the Lite + and 2s are on par with each other.

No Autel products have geofencing at all (except for countries where it is mandated, like China, Japan). It a database only that tells you if you are flying in a NFZ. You can easily change flight modes (smooth, standard, sport) by touching the Sky app screen in top left corner, rather than using the function button on controller.. The Lite+ also has the same flight time as the Mavic 3 (approx 35 minutes). Autel has never had excellent tracking in past drone models. Is a $1000+ drone cost differential for the M3 warranted ?

I'm not sure the $1000 difference is worth it right now. I'd have to see how both drones have mature through firmware updates the next 6 months.

Les arrières plans sont beaucoup moins flous sur le Lite+ que sur la gamme DJI. Après, il y a aussi le mode defog sur le modèle Autel qui est assez incroyable pour l'avoir testé ! This was the most awaited video. Big thanks to you for hard work. Question: In these Ocean (water) videos, the water color appears different in Lite+ and Mavic 3 for example 3:17. The question is which drone camera was showing the colors visible at that time to naked eyes.

It looked like the LITE+ had an “built-in” filter… at 4:15 there is a dim flare coming off to the lower center right of the screen when the building is being recorded. There is a noticeable hue with the LITE+

The Lite+ held its own against some of the better drones from DJI. Of the new drones from Autel, I think I prefer this one over the Nano+, that one has too many issues. Great testing Aldryn, and thanks for sharing.

Yeah I agree Autel looks wkd but it’s rough round the edges. Needs some refinement. I seen others where the auto doesn’t handle wind as well as DJI

Exposure is spot on with the Evo lite. One thing Autel needs to work on is the agility of their Drones. Moving forward is slower than all Dji models. One thing I love with the Evo 2 pro is having the horizon leve right in the middle of the shot and not having any props in view. I'm looking forward to the Evo 3 pro :-)

Thanks for doing this comparison. I feel that, this late in Autel’s production life, such clumsy programming glitches and omissions, both in performance and control interfaces and menus in new products, are unforgivable. It seems that lessons are not being learned and, worse, they are not looking outwards to see the best practices and systems people are already using in other products, enjoying, and asking for. And I was rooting for them.

As someone owning neither why don't you talk about the missing software features that DJI Mavic 3 has at launch 🤔. Pick your poisonsince no one is talking about DJI launching the MAVIC 3 with an old dumb down controller and a lower resolution than the air 2s. 😉 Both companies are excellent and it seems that DJI is a tad bit more refined and reliable feature wise.

Just comparing the images as a viewer. Both the Lite+ and Air 2s, are very close in video quality to the Mavic 3. It’s great DJI now have some decent competition.

Thanks for the tests of the Lite+! Was on the virtual fence on whether to pre-order this drone but now I'm going to wait until DJI updates the Air 2S or whatever they will call it. Things like the "unfinished" software issues like you've shown and the way the drone lands back down has me worried. The video recording and build quality looks nice though. On a future update, could you compare the decibel levels of the Lite+ to the Mavic Air 2S please?

The A2S is kicking butt and taking names! It’s got no firmware ‘issues’ that I’m aware of..never really has. I have had the RC Pro controller combo for about 2-21/2 months now, it’s fantastic.

Enjoyed the video. One of the aspects that the Autel Evo Lite+ has over the DJI Mavic Air 2S is the adjustable aperature. That is why I am considering the Autel Lite+ over the MA2S. Just waiting for more firmware updates and checkout more reviews before buying. I have the Mavic Air 2, and it is a great drone. Just want more versatility in camera control that the Lite+ allows. Looking forward to a more in-depth review. Thanks!

Solid review Aldryn, as always. GREAT channel man Edited to add: Aweome comparison in these drones. It’s just AMAZING to me reading these comments!..People are thinking THE PERFECT DRONE IS GOING TO SHOW UP ANY DAY NOW..it’s NEVER going to happen! These ample comparisons rampant on Yt show these drones are ALL so close that it ends up being a “Beauty is in THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER”-thing. There is SOMETIMES issues with firmware with “somebody’s” drone somewhere..but almost exclusively these drones are killing it. People are spoiled and expect an ABSOLUTELY PERFECT product, you will never see it..be reasonable.

All 3 drones look great in the well lit environments. I think Autel was a bit over sharpened while both DJI drones had a more natural look. Dynamic range on Autel looked exceptional with great exposure throughout the image.

Some good info between those drones Aldryn. Some KZbinrs are praising the Lite+ a little too much for my liking considering it’s an unfinished product. Your thoughts on it are a bit more realistic at this stage which I appreciate. I’m sure it’s a great drone and it will definitively spur DJI on to compete and better it at that price point so it’s great overall for the industry.

Nice comparisons. To me on a Sony 75in 4k TV, the Lite+ has more details & A2S seems like the details are better than the M3 & more similar to the Lite+. And the Autel lite+ for now is still only using 8 bit color, correct?

A lot has been made about image quality between Autel and DJI but I can't find any comparisons on range and reception etc. From what I've heard the Autels cannot come close to the range and flying ability of the DJI drones? My Mavic 3 is the best I've used to date for Time Lapse..its rock solid.

Looks like Autel is no better than DJI when it comes to Beta testing their new products prior to releasing them into the marketplace. It appears to me both companies would rather sell their products to consumers and let the early adopters do their Beta testing for them! BTW, you do some nice Beta testing for both companies! Your videos are always informative on the new products. I hope both companies listen to their "early adopters" and take your suggestions for improvements in their products.

Sony cameras are cooler than Canon in color temp also, which is why our company switched our fleet to all Autel E2 birds. We use Sony cameras exclusively. Tested the M3, and it's ok, but not as durable as the E2P. Tested both in coastal winds here in FL. E2 handling was better, and oddly enough the H tilt on the M3 was horrendously bad with just about every turn and wind direction flown. We flew Air 2S as well but it doesn't do well in the winds here, nor would the Lite. Big Birds, heavier birds do better in 35 mph winds.

Wrong strategy from AUTEL. It's time to "replace" the evo 2 pro. LITE + has a better camera and COLOR SCIENCE !. ALL THE FEATURES of the evo 2 pro must be given, in Lite +. If this happens then Dji will have a very big problem !!

It doesn’t matter if they have an enterprise drone, they’re due for an upgrade for the EVO 2 series and can replace that series easily.
