Thanks for taking the time to post that. I brought a version of this scanner after seeing this. Manufacturers do a poor job at highlighting this feature PMI, and I needed it for my new ford pcm

Eric, what did you do exactly with new pcm? Power control modul you replaced?

@@mrt-ee1zn After replacing you have to perform a "Parameter Reset" (under PATS function), through either a higher end scan tool, or the cheaper option was using Ford IDS software with a J2534 bypass, such as SVCI J2534. The latter was a PITA to get the software to work, but, afterwards it was fairly simple to carry out the process. Most PCM vendors will send you the instructions. The Simplied Ford IDS process is : New Session (Confirm) Enter Vin Select the “PATS Functions” Wait 10 Mins (Normal for PATS Operation Security) SECURITY ACCESS GRANTED If you have the keys already Then select "Parameter Reset" After a successful operation the Key should then start the car. For scan tools you have to select the PATS functions and should find "Parameter Reset" within that menu listing. Hope that this helps. Good Luck..

Question. Are you actually able to perform a program/flash, or is this just parameter reset, which will sync your modules after a pre-programmed (software is written to a module) module is installed?

I am a DIY Engineer who love to work in my own cars, I do have a Launch X129 scanner and I am looking to buy a professional scanner capable to monitor, activate, calibrate and have a learning/teaching capabilities. My mom has a 2015 Ford Fiesta with the powershift transmission and I found the hard way that most of the times just by recalibrating the clutch and forks will fix the problem, this is why I am looking for a scanner capable of doing this without getting bankcorrupted. No PCM access. RCM reset is useful after an airbag deploy. For Fords, I would look at Forscan before spending the big bucks.

Hi, I too have a MP808. And isn't it the vehicle that is suppose to have the features and not the scanner? Because I never see that programmable feature on my mp808, and it is because my 2001 dodge ram does not have that feature, while if I plugged it to a newer model vehicle that has the feature then it would show. Is that correct or no. Frank

It’s maybe because the tool doesn’t have the ability to do it to your Dodge or Dodge made it not have to have the vin programmed to each module in order for them to work. Some vehicles have the opinions and others don’t. You’ll just have to plug in and see. Thanks for the comment!

1 year later, can't thank you enough for this video! Exact feature I need. However, I had a question, I'm thinking of buying an mp808bt second hand that is out of subscription. Would it still retain this Ford programming option? I was inspecting closely to see if the scanner connected to wifi at any point during your video, and didn't seem like it did. Which is promising. Is that something you can check cause it's been 1 year, and unless you renewed your subscription, I'm guessing its expired by now. lol .. May just be the right time for this comment. 😁

Greatly appreciate the positive support! Don’t hold me to it but I would think so. I think the feature is part of an update that I received a while back. You are correct at that point I did not have WiFi out in my garage at that point so it wasn’t connected. Yes, my subscription has expired. I can throw it on my escape and see if I still have the feature and re comment. Thanks for the comment!

Try looking under vehicle specific, it wouldn’t be in the main menu you have to go in through the Manufacturer, then the VIN then it may or may not pop up if it works.

I’m not 100% sure, this is the other scanner I was debating on buying over the one I bought. I have a gut feeling yes because mine said it didn’t support this and it in fact did. I can’t guarantee it will but if you or anyone else finds out it does leave a comment on this because I’m curious to know. Thanks for watching and asking!

I posted one on a airbag module which I see you found. In this video I was showing that it is possible to reprogram modules for Fords/Mazda in case that was a deciding factor for buying this scanner. Thanks for the view and comment!

It is for sure just a MP808 from 2022 model year. This was the only advance scanner I have ever used before. I know the Think Tool Pro had the ability to do module programming for Ford but I have never used one before. For what you get it’s a great deal and it worked for everything I wanted it to do (bi-directional scanning/testing, live data, manufacturer specific module readings, etc.)

I don’t believe so, I hooked this up to a Friend’s newer Chevy Impala and it didn’t give me the option to program modules like the Ford I hooked it up to did.
