I'm an auto mechanic, what's the AC mode used for? Having DC oscilloscope would be more useful

Have you tried the powerprobe accessories (5v,pulse ect) on the Autel ? I have an Autel and like it but the 5 volt add on would be a good addition, for $25 I might give it a go, as can't see why it wouldn't work...............

You can check resistance of the electric engine with a normal cheap multimeter

Yes you can, and you can power the motor with some wires and alligator clips. This tool lets you do all of that with one tool and without fumbling around with different setups. Being able to do all the tests quickly with one device makes a big difference in a shop. If you are working at home maybe you don't need this. If you are trying to diagnose problems to get cars fixed and out the door this is very helpful.
