Autel Xstar battery easy charging fix

I have had this drone on a shelf for two years, given to me as a gift because the batteries would not charge. I have considered selling it many times, but always felt like there is likely an easy fix. YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY is an understatement. Thanks a million, I now have two working fully charged batteries!

Hi, I've tried to jump start my batteries using a AC to DC 12V transformer but nothing except when I push the battery button I get the 4 lights flash and gone. I got the green light on the charger to blink once using a 9V battery. Yesterday I tried it again and got a slight bit of smoke out of the charger terminal. I really need to see where you placed the probes as the other video you posted has them in another location to check the voltage. Please let me know, I thought I had the correct terminals. I need to decide if I'm just going to scrap the whole unit or not. Thank you

How long before the battery lights came on? I just attempted this and got the charger to start charging. But it’s been about 30 mins and no indication from the battery that it’s working. They were dead as a door nail though.

I’m hoping you or someone who knows will read this comment. I’ve had good luck with this method. But, I have a question hoping maybe for an opinion. Just bought two old batteries and tried to revive both. Their voltages are less than 1 volt each. While this method has worked for me on similar batteries these two only very, very slowly charge while connected to a 20 volt source. Utterly slow and the higher the charge the slower the charge rate. Getting to 2 volts takes quite a while. I dont want to toss them, any opinions or suggestions? I have several different chargers and so the charger is not a factor.

Looks promising… I’ve gotten the charger light to turn on using the method and feel the battery warming up. There are still no lights coming on at the top of the battery. It’s been charging about an hour. Has anyone experienced this and had success? Thanks

!!! WARNING!!! This method will destroy the battery charging circuit!!! Will cost $100 in damage, replacement cost. The 12 volts will overload and burn the charger. Always use caution when following KZbin videos!!!!!!

Thanks for this. I will attempt this maybe today! (this video of the exact connections helped - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaXRl4KqnZKBhNk ) Would absolutely LOVE to bring my X-Star Premium back to life again after 2.5 years of this thing sitting in a huge case. Out of the 7 batteries I have left (2 I had to dispose...way too swelled up), only one was able to charge it by simply connecting it to the Autel charger...which is odd, not sure how this was able to charge, the rest are unresponsive when connecting...apparently dead as doornails.

Thanks, I figured out which terminals and recovered 5 batteries! I used the 12 pin connector positive and battery output negative terminal. I need to fly more to keep them charged.😃
