Hey Phil. Great video as always. The scenery looked amazing. When you were eating the cutters, I thought you were next to " The River Sow" in Stafford !!😂😂 Greetings from a wet LA.

Surfside restaurant and bar in Hometown in St. James Parrish was awesome when I was there. It was one of the few places that had a really good burger and fries. Couple that with a cold Banks, outdoor dining on the sand and a sunset on the gold coast, you cannot get anything better. Watch the sunset and you might also a cruise ship all decked out her lights coming into or leaving from the deep water harbour in Bridgetown.

great video, i love Barbados, good milage reward trip from Manchester for last minute, they often have space. You went to many places that i have been too, i find Barbados affordable if your careful, but you can easily spend a fortune if your not careful. local rum shacks it only costs about £1.30 a beer if you buy 4 at a time.

Thanks for your comment, I stayed at the Rostrevor on St Lawrence Gap, everything you need and nothing you don't. I would recommend it if you're looking for clean and comfortable accommodation without spending a fortune. I was there in September which is one of the warmer months but traditionally wetter, although I got hardly any rain.

We ran McDonalds out in 1990 or 1991! Chefette burgers used to be better. Next time try Dreadhop Beer; a young artisanal brewery just outside Oistins. Mauby is an aquired taste for many visitors. It's bittersweet in flavour and available most places as bottled drink, and in shops as bitters or syrup. When ordering souse, one can request lean meat only and avoid gristle. In terms of breads: Try "leadpipe" - a long skinny type of sweetbread, and "Great cake" aka "Dark cake" more akin to a fruit pudding than regular cake in texture and made mainly of fruit that's soaked in rum for a minimum of a few weeks usually but even months! More rum is added in during mixing. It is then soaked in rum after baking to keep it moist. Can keep for weeks unrefrigerated. VERY rich flavour and can get fllks drunk due to being soaked, so a thin slice to get you acclimated may be wise. NB: Not to be confused with the more doughy or cakey versions like Tortuga brand! National Dish: Cou-cou ( say coo-coo ) & Flying Fish. A polenta like ( if you're Hispanic ) or like Ghanaian "Bankoo" cornmeal dish made with okras and accompanied by a sauce ( gravy ) and Flying fish steamed with onions herbs etc. and pickled cucumber. If not flying fish, then dolphin, salt fish ( salted cod ) gravy or other fish may be used. Folks also eat Cou-cou with various stewed meats: lamb, beef, pork etc. NB: Cou-cou versions are also made from green ( unripe ) cooking bananas - much thinner than the sweet types many eat. OR, breadfruit cou-cou - peeled and boiled breadfruit with onion and thyme & which is then lightly seasoned with salt. Both alternatives are usually lathered with a sauce ( gravy ) and served along with pickled cucumber. Root crops like sweet potato yam and Cassava are widely eaten by Bajans. Bajan soup: May contain chicken, lamb, beef, cow heel, pork bone or fish along with starchy crops like sweet potato, eddoe, yam, breadfruit, cassava, English/Irish potato and pumpkins, squash, garlic, ginger, celery, onions herbs - esp thyme, hot pepper, split peas or lentils, sometimes black eyed peas - typically whatever meat or veg is knocking around. Accompanied with unleavened flour dumplings boiled in the soup. A very thick consistency and not creamed.❤ "Breadfruit Creole"/ Creole Breadfruit. - Peeled, boiled and diced breadfruit slathered in a delicious sauce of sauteed onion, garlic, tomato, butter, herbs, sweet pepper, black or white pepper, a dash of paprika optionally and esten or slathered in the sause, sprinklrd with grated cheddar and baked for a few mins - just to melt the cheese.❤ "Bakes" - Fried spiced and sweetened batter fried as per fishcakes. Often eaten along with fiahcakes and a common breakfast or snack staple. NB: "Muffins" are large bakes essentially as opposed to the cakey muffins. ❤ "Fritters" - A spiced, sweetened batter typically containing pumpkin or plantain - a member of the banana family and with a touch of baking powder optionally to lighten. Fried to perfection. NOT thick and doughy like a bake or fishcake. Sweets: Sugarcake - grated coconut boiled in sugar and sometimes with other flavourings like ginger, molasses, mint. Nutcake - peanuts raw or roasred and boiled down in sugar to a sort of form caramel rasting fudge then dropped on a sheet free form to cool and harden. "Glassy" - a burnt sugar sweet so is bittersweet in taste, hard and glassy looking. Not as sweet: Cassava pone - Cassava aka manioc/ yucca / tapioca is a starchy root. It is peeled and grated then mixed into a batter with spices, sugar a bit of butter and baked. ❤ May be made from cornmeal also. So much more but come on back. Can't type all here! Cheers!

It’s not pronounced Barjan -that was funny. It’s pronounced bay - as in sitting on the dock and jan - as in the month. The inaudible ingredient was angostura bitters. Chefette - that was fighting talk that you put out. You missed out the drinks sorrel and mauby - the latter is ❤ but perhaps an acquired taste.
