Authentic Oakley Radars Versus Fake Oakley Radars

Oakley seem to be riding on their brand name... My $35 fakes have a removable nosepiece, thick frames, a case identical to your real one, and came with a polarized lens (yes, I checked. It is actually polarized). The pair you show are nothing like any fakes I have seen.

oh dude, i have like 4 pairs of fake oakleys and i've never had any issues with sun or even the frams breaking or anything. just buy fake oakleys, go in to a store and buy real lenses . works everytime, will always share the same inter-changes

i posted a comment on your page of a link of exactly what you needed. my airsoft buddies have used them and they can deflect really powerful shots, like bbs coming in at more that 450 feet per second. so i got the same model from the same airsoft shop. built well, no mold flash or seams.

Hello, I have a pair of Radars I was given and I wanted to make sure they are real before buying a replacement lens because this one is shot. So first, thanks for the video. Mine however don;t have a model number anywhere on the left arm area like you mentioned. They have the removable nose, the socks are comparable to Oakleys I had years ago, the Oakley text is etched on to the lens and even with some diligent finger scratching does not come off. Do you have any further insight to help?

I just looked at a stock photo of the XL anti freeze blades, and sure enough there are no letters there. Do you have another jade lens to compare to? Might help. I know that the radar path lenses do have the lettering. I think you are okay since the pic I looked also did not have the etching. Also looked at several other lenses in the blade XL frames that also did not have the Oakley letters. It looked like the only one that did was the red iridium in the crystal red frame.

Hmm, curious. All of my lenses have Oakley name on them. I don't have any XL blades because of the large size. Let me do some checking to see if they did something special with the XL blade lens. Will post when I find okay?

I have bought fake ones knowing that they were. I paid 15 dollars for them and they have a removable nose piece and not a O in the corner and they have a big case with replacement lenses. They are built very well too!

Generally not as Oakley is pretty strict on pricing. To find certain models that Oakley discounts themselves go to the oakley vault. Just google it & see what they have.

Different frame colors and lenses have different model numbers. Also custom ordered frame lenses & frames will not have a model number because they were custom ordered from Oakley. Hope this answers your question, but if not let me know.

A fellow ebayer sent them to me, the fakes I mean, to check out because an Oakley lens wouldn't fit into the frame. They would fit into a fake frame. A lot of places on the internet sell the fakes.

Actually it is illegal, it's a copyright infringement & Oakley has legal teams to try to combat it, cut they're everywhere.

So I bought a pair of Radar XL Blades in the Antifreeze jade iridium. Is it normal that the XL jade lense doesnt have Oakley on it at all? The frame is for sure legit and the lenses are still very sharp maybe they just don't have letters. Help?

I've seen orange/white oakley radarlock replicas from velosports sunglasses uk, and I have to say, they did a great job. The lenses can actually switch out.

Oakley just take the piss with their prices, they deserve to have people clone their products! Some of the fakes are very good and a tenth of the cost of genuine one's! I have a genuine pair of e wires from the 90's, they ain't special but at least they appear better quality than the plastic shit Oakley churn out today! Buy good fakes and fuck Oakley! Some people have more money than sense! But I guess when you've been sucked in by the bullshit and bought them, you have to defend your mindless purchase! BTW a lot of the fakes tested were also UV 400 too?! Go figure that out!

@3f26sessb Actually my point in the fake versus real video is that someone paid for what they thought were authentic Oakleys and got fakes. It's one thing to pay the $13 and know you have knock -offs but quite another to pay the real money for what are fakes. The money is truly in the lenses. So I was merely showing buyers how to tell the difference so they don't pay the big bucks for what some ebayer is selling as authentic but is really fake. Thanks for watching.

This stuff doesn't just happen with sunglasses. Shoes are even worse for it, and they actually normally charge full retail price (many fake sunglasses are at least cheap, making it pretty obvious) and I can only imagine hand bags and other clothing/accessory items are horrible for fakes.

None of the fakes have a real removeable nose piece either & they are so lightweight and cheap feeling they are obvious. That's why none of the fakes show the inside of the glasses. And the ear socks are very thin and nearly tear if you try to take them off. The frames are real thin too, not substantial like Oakley makes. Finally, the paint job is such a joke on the fakes. I can tell just by looking at the pictures on Ebay whether they are real or not. I've reported them to ebay too!

Hahaha.. Some guy thought he was selling fakes, and I bought them from him for about 50$, they came with the authentic case, a nose piece.. And i rubbed the etched "Oakley" with a rag for about 2-3 minutes and it didn't come off.. I think they're real, and I got them for 1/4 price! At least according to this guide, they're real!

The only reason I bought a fake pair of Oakleys is because I'm 18 and in College. I'm studying 24/7 and don't have a job yet. My income is from my student allowance and I cant afford to spend $100+ on some glasses. Maybe when I get a decent job I'll buy the authentic ones :)

Iv had some from that site and they are fantastic and their is literally no difference between the real ones and these. Not mega cheap but you get what you pay for and are worth every penny. even the boxes they come with are perfect, plus the radars etc come with spare lenses, even polarized! i took them to a specsavers store (radarlocks in orange) to have them tested and they said they are very good for a copy and they wouldnt know if i didnt say they where replica!

My fake oakleys broke 1 week ago and i just got real ones. While the real ones are better fit and finish, for kicks i went outside and shot the fake lens with a 800fps pellet gun from 20 ft and only a dent was on the lens. While i much prefer the real oakleys, for the money the fakes aren't that bad.

My fakes are thick framed, removable nosepiece, good quality lenses, with Oakley model number printed inside, nice sturdy arms, suberb - you could be fooled to think they weren't the real thing. Even say made in the USA but come from China - just like the real Oakleys. One difference - good price !

Light from the sun is not polarized so you really don't need a gimmicky £300 "polarised lens" to "protect" your eyes.

Just put it into google and type search and it should tell you. Oakley also make ordinary (non polarised lens) sunglasses which alao "protect" your eyes. My fakes are of the Oakley non-polarised sunglasses type and saved me a lot of wonga.

Killa Kam Many of the fakes come with a polarised lens, and there is no difference in the UV filtering capability of a $150 piece of plastic compared to a $5 piece of plastic.

I appreciate your comments but the money is really in the lenses. And of course not all fakes are alike, nor of the same weight/feel. If you like fakes, that is up to you. For me, however, I will stick with the quality of authentic Oakley. My video is simply put, to help consumers not pay top dollar for fakes.
