Bev Jenkins is delightful! I’ve never read her books but now she is on my TBR. I couldn’t stop listening to her interview, she is just such a fun person I bet her books are amazing. And you had the best co-hosts! Both Samantha and Tiff were so engaged and ready to ask their own questions and comments. Not a single pause, they were ready to interact and seem so genuinely interested in the author. Loved it! Great interview all around 🤩

Hi and the wonderful Beverly Jenkins yes I was not familiar when I first found you I ordered all your books from Walmart website with all that like that they had in which ended up for me being I think about 12 bucks at the time and was happy to get them I found you by finding indigo at the library on audio and just simply was amazed and then I think my next favorite is probably for bidden and I’ll tell you why because of passing and I don’t know if the young ladies have Radmila Larson’s passing but it’s a must read even though we’ve seen Netflix do a film I think they didn’t unravel the reality of what really happened on that roof that roofTop of that building so passing for people of color is a protocol of salvation some feel who do it some who wish they could especially in a period of time so to find someone who is willing for love to let go was amazing it is amazing and yeah love is the call is it not even a call of duty and so for those who are not familiar with these concepts and terms of romantic lays on you will have written it definitely with humor inside of course because of who you are and what being a color means I was also a call to our understanding as women of color to the other side of life or people liveI’ve also live with the ramification of freedom and freedom is a college at night so forbid and it was wonderful the series was wonderful but in particular for Benzel indigo Inn for bidden or my two faves and kudos to you young ladies for loving Bev Jenkins and we’re having her on for author interview and I’m looking forward to it

Reality about whatever speaking of of historical history city of a book to do with people of color is that very little Lil has been written about our affirmations as to historical living outside of slavery if it’s not done very few books have been written about how we traversed the west the north and historical times the south it’s necessary to see the black cowboy the black female entrepreneur wanting to run a restaurant wanting to step out and above where she’s been and prove to be and I think that’s why bestThat’s why both stories are so enthralling because she shows Black people living in another time successfully and some not so successfully or how they were used even in the time of the Civil War as spies and in other positions of authoritative power and yet having to be compelled to hide such things and all these things are fascinating and we need more more more more more

“We don’t realize many of the young people that really is that segregation was the rule even for Black people because you said 1879 coming to the north they weren’t going to immigrate into white society they would be immigrating into black society would you portray very well in your books and how it was and what it was like to live and what work you could get and how we could love and live love is a very important part of it the sensual side of life and when you’ve lived in slavery how you approach sensuality could be very different your conceptualizations could be very different about what the norm is and what’s acceptable and that’s just a truism that’s just a relax a reality of the aftermath of slavery so the time we get to even 1964 it’s only100 years out and segregation was still not broken and that’s what young people really don’t understand many African-American young people really don’t understand you have your jack and Jill’s Jessica maybe you can explain that to people if you know what that means if not Beverly can explain it to y’all later the higher echelon of life and society the black book with the money and yet still the Black people with the money lived in certain kinds of circumstance on a higher end of living among their own and there was indeed a time for the breaking out of some in certain areas into desegregation but segregation was the norm where you see your self this is how you live now many people of color let’s say Chinese look at each other very positively Japanese peopleI live on the reservation do they not that is a positive affirmation of who they are but people of color African descent colored people Negro people all these things that we’ve come to be called have been taught to suspiciously look at one another even within the confines of their own segregated world as it wasn’t a time and now we have really economic segregation that’s really the reality in a truism of in the majority there’s certain places it step outside of it not that many it’s called ghetto girls and Beverly intelligently wittingly sometimes verbal Slee I have a thing about verbose language I will go anything beyond that there’s So much I can handle in a moment of time but that’s my conscience not yours and I don’t judge other people for what they imbibe by word but appreciation Hass to be shown for such an individual who would take the task to relate us in the historical sense and sometimes negative manner and yet overriding the positive matter even in the affirmation of love and continuance and familial continuity
