Walking home from school without an adult is not as universal as the author remembers. It was when the author and I were kids, but it is not what I have observed in the past 10 years. I mostly teach older kids, but I have 1 class in middle school and out of 23 only 2 walk home unsupervised. Perhaps it is different in big cities or in the US. 🤷♂

Whatt? In the US it's getting harder and harder for kids to have autonomy, even Canada too, but outside of these borders, children have way more autonomy and are fine to walk or bike home alone. I'd still call it a universal experience.

It’s a terrible book, the he didn’t finish the whole plot, I read a book about how much Bryson Wills loves to play video then talks about Candace and her friends. Like the connection is so off and the story is messed up.
