Back in uni, his bike got toppled over by a girl. When confronted about it, he just got laughed on and left. He was happy it happened and might got a crush on her, then he writes Makima based on that experience (and a few inspiration from other characters) -recently he made an account in twitter impersonating his imaginary 3rd year little sister and posted early sketches of CSM as proof. I love how she’s honest and self-aware about it. When an anime becomes big and so does the author, often-times they tend to forget who to thank and what allowed them to be popular in the first place. I love Bocchi the Rock, but I think many of us can acknowledge the fact that before it aired on tv anime, the manga was not known by people (except for the lucky few who knew) so it’s great to see an author being thankful rather than taking all the credit and success for granted! ❤
@DetectiveAme Жыл бұрын
Aki-sensei is adorable!!! She puts such thought and emotion into her characters, the fact that Bocchi The Rock became popular is thanks to excellent way of conveying the feelings of an introverted person, as Ryo said "It may not connect with many people, but for those who it does, it will hit deeper" and it really really connected with me. After watching anime for a whopping 9 years, Bocchi has reached a place in my heart that no other work will, I simply love it!

1:46 "it's pushing me to make the comic version even funnier so it can compete with the anime version" the anime adaptation totally eclipsed the manga version in terms of story depth, but then again i guess that's the limit of a 4-koma. but im so happy the author use this as a motivation to improve the manga version. everybody wins
@Serfo_ Жыл бұрын
4-koma manga tend to be rather disconnected from chapter to chapter, and kinda auto-conclusive in itself. That's why comedy works so well there, but as you say, it hurts little things like story depth and overall development (since there's so much you can do with only 4 panels). Good thing is, I think the anime helps the author to emphasize the story and world behind Bocchi, which are traits that the 4koma can't convey as good as the anime. And it may motivate her to explore new ways of storytelling (thinking that it may show its true potential later when the anime adapt it)
@fats2010 Жыл бұрын

1:07 Tbh I was surprised that Hamaji-sensei even admitted that Nijika didn't have strong strait in the manga. In Manga Time Kirara (The comic magazine where BTR is getting serialized), a character that is cheerful, kind to others (especially to the main character) and always trying to be positive exists in almost manga serialized there. Maybe that's why Hamaji-sensei felt that Nijika didn't have any strong strait because in the early days it seemed that her personality was very common among other Kirara characters.
@velvetra29 Жыл бұрын
For me, Nijika is the MVP of the band. She's the glue that keep the band together. She's so positive and cheerful. Usually, i really hate such a positive character, but there's something in Nijika that really made me liked her. Idk, she feels more genuine.

1:46 Now, this is what true artists and directors should strive for. Not "I need to respect source materials so I won't make any changes" or "The source is always better than adaptation". Arts in any form should always strive to be the best of one's ability. If adaptation outperformed the source, then the original artists would also attempt to perfect their own work because someone else understood their work and showed them the potential. I liked bocchi not because it is perfect in terms of story/character design/or music (though they are top-notch quality), but because everything is just fluidly tied together, emotions are expressed fantastically to the viewers.
