A read an interview from one of prince’s former bodyguards who said they actually maintained a private friendship outside of the media. That michael had been to paisley park on multiple occasions, that they often played a game of basketball when he was there, and that they had been back stage at each others concerts. He said that michael played the final version of the dangerous album for prince in his private studio before it was released, and prince said he loved it. The former BH said they were actually friends and just talked and laughed and hung out like regular guys, just good old friends. They just didn’t display that publicly dud to how the media and industry tried to keep them rivals. Prince even said michael called him on the phone and gave him profound career advice, calling him a legend.

Lies get papers sold. Prince took Mike’s death very hard. He didn’t leave his home for a few days. They respected each other’s gifts. They both went up against Sony regarding ownership of their songs and they both won. It was hard work but Prince and Michael persevered and won their cases.

This is not true I don’t know where you got all this garbage from, Prince and Michael never met again after the James brown incident they both went their separate ways, Prince knew he was harsh on Michael and hearing of his death so unexpectedly hurt Prince because he realised he couldn’t make it up to him and so he isolated himself for that very reason he had to digest what was going on. He thought he had all the time to one day speak to Michael and converse with him but it never happened and he died. That’s the truth.. the were total strangers

Quincy Jones had them over his home during the Bad-era, and MJ attended a Prince concert with Will.I.Am, though it wasn't described as the best encounter. And those are the well-documented instances I've heard of. Could've been more, we dk them.

You can tell Prince cared about Michael because I bet he was a fan of the Jackson 5 like so many people in their childhood during the late 60s and during the 2005 trial he deleted bad comments from people on his Twitter page who were talking about Michael. I think that Pepsi commercial burn to his skull is was what started him on taking pain medication because if people saw the photos, they’d understand how painful it was. And I’m sure he had a hard time sleeping after THAT too. But I think his insomnia started way back during his childhood in the Jackson 5 days because they were working so hard like adults, staying up late practicing and performing and when you’re the star of the group at THAT age, of course you get more of the burden. But I wish Tavis Smiley would've talked to some Michael Jackson fans before making THIS book because the ONLY thing missing in THAT book were the corrupt corporate people that Michael was dealing with who were helping to destroy him and his career. Of course the clueless and haters DON'T know THIS because the media played a part of it too since they work along with SONY and were helping to spread lies about Michael to stop him from gaining more fans. People wanted him dead (which is something Tavis Smiley doesn’t know) and wanted those music catalogues and THAT tour was a set up and the ONLY way to get it back to SONY. Why do YOU THINK Sony is so serious about getting it anyway NOW that he’s gone? Corrupt people were forging signatures (like sneaky Tohme Tohme) to get Michael to do 50 shows when it was supposed to be ONLY 10 shows. And Michael wasn't taking drugs just to get high, he had serious health issues that could be life threatening and Lupus can sometimes cause cancer and dos cause people to go bald. This is why he was at a Lupus fund raiser in 2003 for a reason. When you have so many health issues at once, of course there’s gonna be a lot of medication to take along with it. So don't call him a drug addict as if you’re trying to say he was JUST trying to get high. Now Elvis on the other hand was the one getting high on cocaine, but you won't hear the racially BIAS media bringing that S**T up, them and their secretive ass selves. Michael's medication wasn't strong enough for all the health problems he had, he just had to take it to live on and THAT tour wasn't helping either because it made it hard for him to go to sleep. People need sleep, period, and without it, your mind isn't right because I KNOW what that feels like and experienced THAT before. You forget a lot of things and feel like a zombie, but I don't take medication for anything unless it's for cramps or serious physical pain from whatever. So clueless people need to get THAT straight. And "dumb dumb" Conrad Murray let the Propofol drip in Michael's body and forgot to STAY IN TH DAMN ROOM which is why Michal stopped breathing since Murray didn't come back in time. A wake up call to anybody who doesn’t know what the F**K was going on.

I'm sorry but when you're to the point of being hooked up to a Propofol drip just to sleep at night......................that's addiction. Yes, his use of drugs probably started after his scalp was burned so badly, but it went on for years with stronger and stronger pain meds, and obviously got alot WORSE! And I'm sure Tavis is very aware of the corporate greed involved. He just may have chosen not to write about it. (I have not read his book.)

He went to rehab because of pain meds in the 90s due to having constant surgeries on his scalp to remove keloids after the original burn. That has nothing to do with propofol.

Prince and Michael were not rivals. That is a lie. They were friends. It’s been said that Mike and Prince gave each other advice on raising their sons on the road. It was difficult to keep them safe. Mike had Omer and Prince had his son. A lot of people never put that together. Mike had his little son every where. He traveled the world several times. He was knickname “a mini Mike” he worn the shades and fancy clothes like his dad. Prince band member said Prince always had this little boy on the road with him. Prince was asked who was he because he looked like Prince. Prince would not answer and kept doing what he was doing.

Tavis said he had to do his research on MJ. He also went on to say after his research his thoughts were more about how MJ was able to hold on for so long, under those conditions vs anything else. As for Prince, he had a closer friendship and as we know Prince was extremely private and Tavis respected that. I did not even know that Prince basically closed down Paisley Park after MJ died and I have been a FAM over 20 years! That confirms the point I have been arguing with people all this time......they were friends and cared for each other.

Never got to see Michael but did see Prince twice and was gonna see him 3 more times in 2015 but he cancelled all his European dates because of that fuckin' terror attack in Paris. He passed away a few months later and I cried like a child :'( Seeing him perform was like having a religious experience. The best high in the world

They weren't "bffs", but they had a closer relationship than people realized. They visited each other during studio sessions, tour stops, movie premieres, etc. They both had an enormous amount of respect for each other.

The truth is that nobody knows what the exact concept was going to be had Prince actually starred in the Bad video. One thing you seem to overlook is the fact that the song was meant to be a musical duet between the two trying to outperform eachother. I can imagine them ending it by walking off on peaceful terms, same way MJ did with Wesley Snipes in the video. Prince respectfully declined at the time citing artistic differences. Also, Michael never ridiculed Wesley. On the contrary, Wesley had a long, wealthy career out of that one performance that was given to him by MJ and Scorcese. MJ and Prince had a serious rivalry in the 80's but in the end had the utmost respect for eachothers craft. Prince even told him "You don't need me on this (Bad), it will be a hit record with or without me." Michael only wanted to work with the best so even though the collab never happened, it complimented both sides.
