There is a flipside which was not revealed: The Dalit issue articulated by Ambedkar. Old history cannot be minimized to Hindu- Muslim binary. In Tamilnadu, the Dravidian politics is foregrounding it in a clumsy manner. I have not read VS but if he has ignored the Dalit issue, then his stand gets vitiated. He cannot stand on a moral high ground , Ignoring this soft underbelly of India. Assuming, the Hindu-Muslim binary is settled in favour of the Hindu, the very same scars that the right wing is banking on will come to haunt it. Against this scenario, the question is what is profitable for the masses: economic growth or settling scores? P.S : I am not a leftist.

Tharoor is making his points and apply that to what Sampath was saying that is different. Sampath is saying face up and move on. Tharoor is saying don't face up and we'll move on. There's a load of difference. Tharoor like liberals hate inconveniencing minorities even if the surgery is a requisite to move on. Tharoor like most historians he's justifying is a victim of Coloniality. I wish he wasn't. And rightly he's a congressman. We can't move unless we know and accept the truth. That's hate for some, logic for others and unnecessary for the rest. You're entitled to your opinion but not your facts. Face up, accept events and results for what it is and move on. Truth will pop up until and unless you do.

Mr Sampath put very good point. You can't move forward without wounds healed. What our historians did is they not only hid the history but put in such a manner that they made invader heros. Today's technology won't allow you paint only your story. When Hindus of India learn what happened to their ancestors they do feel bad. And when they see those oppressors getting honored in the same country because of false history, they get angered. Mr Tharoor's argument that they lied in history in order to content hatred is not right. How come Jews of German don't hold grudge against current generation of Germans? History is written to keep the device and rift alive among different sects of Indian societies by selfish and cunning powerful people.

The fact that we have pilgrimage sites and yatras all over this sacred land respected by all Hindus is a testimony to this.

Vikram Sampath said rightly, do the ' Fact Check '. He got much less time according to the other both got together representing the same cause gently or strongly. Vikram Sampath opened our eyes in many aspect and was in the right logical point, not like other 2.

Well well, after Sai deepak interaction with tharoor in which he have completely outflank, outfox and outarticulated him so much that tharoor has to put weary smile in his face. And now vikram sampath have completely demolished with extreme brilliant choice of words, launched canonballs from front so much that tharoor had to agree with him on most facets and iam sure congress workers will not like that..

26:30 - Wounds are not healed by suppressing/ glossing over facts but by an objective study of facts to the extent possible and learn from it and in that respect history as a discipline should not be burdened with the additional responsibility of lending a moral hue to all it's discoveries.

Vikram Sampath had given the example of Ahom history.. Ironically he didn't mention that Aurangzeb army chief was a Hindu Rajput Ram Singh.. He even not mentioned that in d Anglo Mysore war both Nizam n Maratha helped d British to fight d war against Tipu Sultan.. He rightly said that history should be looked beyond rightist n leftist angle 😃🤣✌

Historians having the freedom to write their own books is fine and all, because there's only a fraction of people interested to read about it to be honest. BUT, the real need of the hour is to introduce correct history in schools. Change those NCERT texts, let the children know about the truth right from childhood! The Hindu civiliansation is the oldest in the world and there is a reason why we still are here! And that is something to be proud of rather than being ashamed!

Hypocrisy of Rajdeep. He was talking about history with multiple voices and is so condescending on a movie announce on Nathuram Godse. Why can't you be tolerant to that point of view?
