Except Dell Notebooks, Ultrabooks, Asus officially launched models and Apple products nothing is guaranteed here. Ask for box pack of laptops no shop will give you, they sell laptop like clothes. Laptop market in Nepal is like clothes market. There are no official distributors and even if there is, they don't launch popular models. We have Dell Distributors but all Dell Gaming laptops come from Grey Market.

Grey products doesn't mean that they are of low specs or of low quality they come from the direct company of different country and regarding government tax they to pay full tax as sole authorized importer the difference is that they take less margine and authorized importer take more margine and regarding service no one is here to provide free service after warranty is finished and regarding warranty time both party gives same amount of service for spare parts. Regarding refurbished products there are many ways you can check its a refurbished or not and by the way it doesn't matter refurbished or brand new the main thing is that the product should function properly.

I suggest to buy high end gaming laptop from india. Its far cheaper there, and many seasonal sell occur in Flipkart and Amazon. The money you saved from buying laptop is enough to cover your travel expenses. I bought zephyrus g15 costed 1.35 INR which was around 2.85 lakhs at Nepal. I don’t know weather tax on High end laptop is very high or authorized distributor profit margin is too high.

2 weeks ago I had bought Asus Zephyrus G14 from a store in Kathmandu. I bought it because the store was mentioned in the Gadgetbyte's Page. When I went there the laptops package was already opened and seemed like refurbished. I asked if it was refurbished. They said no. There neither gave me official backpack, nor the webcam and not even the official mouse. Instead some cheap printed hp logo backpack and a rgb mouse whose scroll wheel wasn't aligned. And the price was cheaper then the official asus nepal store. Guess I bought a laptop from a grey market

Grey markets are the best cause we get same products at much cheaper price but have to do some research before buying that product. We will buy only from authorised distributors if the price are very close to international market price... but in Nepal they charge huge amount. authorised distributor are just a authorised thugs.
