I just had an assessment under the NHS, I fell into the autistic spectrum on the tick box questionairres but the psychologist said I wasnt on the spectrum because I was good verbally and maintained eye contact. There is a lot of talk about autistic children but not about adults and especially aging adults. I wanted a diagnosis because people are always getting angry with me and I get bullied and I am scared that I will be more vulnerable to this if I ended up in a care home. Neurologically typical people appear to have no tolerance or understanding of difference. I was prompted to write this because watching these two men, they are both as communicative as I am but say they are on the spectrum.

It's because female Autism is kinda different from the male form... I am a woman too and we are different. I have LEARNED eye contact.
@AlexandraVioletta4 жыл бұрын
And NOT EVERY Psychologist is able to diagnose. In Germany you have to go to a specialist (because Asperger is telly hard to diagnose) and then you make some tests and interviews. Itcan take 2 - 3 Days. Then you drive home, wait and after a few day you get a call and a letter.
@AlexandraVioletta4 жыл бұрын
I bet 98% of Psychologist CAN'T diagnose Asperger right. Because they are simply not be able to do it. My Therapist didn't get it in nearly 8 years of therapy.

Запоминающиеся персонажи. Прекрасная работа! Да ещё и поют! Кристофер всё тот же молодой парень, пластичный и эмоциональный. Браво!

Doblestorm . The first time I was open about being autistic and on the spectrum was when I met Christopher Eccleston at London comic con last month it was the best thing I ever did and I was scared and nervous and me saying I was on the spectrum was a big fear I had because I was worried about the reaction.not his reaction I knew he would be alright because Of theses interviews he done with Gerald and because his on the A word .i was worried that the person behind me was going to say you don’t look it or think that I was making it up just because it was him but that didn’t happen . Sometimes the things your scared of doing turn out to be the most amazing thing ever 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

*You know, I don't see autism in that guy whatsoever.* While I appreciate that autism exists as a diverse spectrum, my instinct is that in time - 20 years, 50 years, 100 years whatever, research will prove that what is diagnosed as 'Autistic spectrum' now, will be seen as many distinct conditions, with their own particular identifying signs & traits, but more importantly, unique treatments and results. Id say we are just at the very infancy of understanding myriad, complex conditions that are currently pigeon-holed as 'autistic spectrum'.
