Autism meltdown at Legoland, in fact multiple public meltdowns. He hasn't had any elopement issues in years but he actual ran from us. However, he still had a great day and we all had a blast.

Noah enjoying it through the overstimulation is a great sign. You can get passes for his waiting issues. You have to feel for kids that can't communicate those needs.

You're an amazing mum Stephanie. Not meaning to sound creepy, but I love how you let Danielle wear what she wants. My mum always made me feel embarrassed and ashamed of my body. I couldn't even show a little bit of cleavage without being uncomfortable. :( You do such a great job with all your children.
@jdurham1326
@jdurham1326 4 жыл бұрын
BookloverFantasy92 I don’t think it’s about making you feel ashamed but just trying to protect you from creepy men. My mom did this and now that I’m a mother myself and have a daughter I wouldn’t want her to go out looking inappropriate, nothing wrong with wearing it at home but not out. It looks very indecent when I see a little girl at the store showing cleavage and shorts that show their butt cheeks
@BookloverFantasy92
@BookloverFantasy92 4 жыл бұрын
@@jdurham1326 totally understandable. But I wasn't even allowed to have anything showing at home. Even slightly, I had to be completely covered up. I'm not talking about little children, but teenagers and older. Mum is still funny about it now and I'm 27...

I respect your decision to not show meltdowns. Although, past videos where you talk about meltdowns, the way you describe them makes them sound like tantrums. Do you distinguish between sensory meltdowns and typical tantrums?
@OurLANDingCrew8
@OurLANDingCrew8 4 жыл бұрын
Meltdowns aren't just because of sensory issues though, that's the most common reason (or at least with us) but meltdowns usually occur due to issue processing: sensory, change, emotions, etc so for Noah it's easy to think that is what is happening from the outside (or from how it's described) but it's clear when he's just trying to get his way and when he's clearly just having a meltdown. It wasn't always like that, we have sometimes thought a meltdown was a tantrum or a tantrum a meltdown but now it's pretty clear in his actions. A tantrum can also easily turn into a meltdown as well. For example, in this video at Legoland, he wasn't throwing a tantrum because he couldn't go on the ride but the meltdown came from his inability to be able to process the emotions he got from waiting. He did a great job for the first hour of waiting but then after that, it caused a meltdown of feelings. tantrums and meltdowns are one of the most misunderstood things with children on the spectrum so this was a great question! Meltdowns also don't have an result. Like later in the day, he was till having issues and we said "okay we can go ride your ride now" but he was still having a meltdown and it didn't matter. A tantrum would immediately stop because he got what he wanted.

He doesn't look that skinny to me. I think that as we have gotten bigger over the years we are so use to seeing bigger people that when we see skinny people we think they are really skinny and underweight when in fact they aren't. Some people weigh more than they look. My sister looks skinny but she is almost in the overweight bmi range according to how much she weighs.
