My son is very protective over his personal belongings and I had to prepare him well in advance when we were moving and I gave him boxes months ahead of time and allowed to begin to pack all of his items in his own way. And, this was very important to him. He loved looking at houses and participating in the walk throughs and he liked knowing that his opinion mattered when it came to what house we selected! I think you are doing everything exactly the way you should! Awesome ladies!! So exciting!

This whole conversation, to me, is ableism at its core. How you “let” Jessica believe something, how you “allow” her to do or not do. People who ask these things unkindly are acting as if Jessica isn’t a capable, functioning member of your household. Someone who has wants and needs and wishes and goals. For them to constantly be irritated that you are allowing her autonomy just says to me they don’t think of her as capable or deserving. Like you all are having one big joke at her expense. I implore people to watch, to listen, to see how you all FAMILY together. Jessica is no less a part of the daily conversation and action as Hannah or Campbell. I wish they would just stop accusing you of these things. It’s downright frustrating as someone who loves your family. Anyway, thank you again for your content, it’s obviously necessary and important!

I have an adult son with autism, dyspraxia, and frontal lobe dysfunction and he asks the same questions over and over. Sometimes I lose my patience because it is just so repetitive. You remind me that it is necessary to ease his anxiety. Thank you Val!

Honestly if grown people can't understand what "getting ready to move some day" is, idk what to tell them. My simplest explanation? We (humans) make plans, but God directs our steps. Meaning, we do our best, God does the rest. And everything happens at the perfect time for our own life. Val I can't imagine the pressure of being under this amount of scrutiny constantly. You and Jess are both underestimated so much. I encourage all critics to take a big step back and look at their own lives before they pick apart a family doing their best.

It makes me feel so bad that people feel they can criticize you for unique decisions you make for your unique child. I can only imagine the confusion and distress it could cause to have a bunch of "maybes" floating around regarding changes. Jessica likes to know what's up, and keeping it simple keeps her heart in a calm place while these things are discussed. At least, that's kindof how I perceive it. But the point is that my opinion and others' opinions really don't matter. What matters is Jessica and her loving family. You GO Val. Rock on.

I totally understand!!! My autistic brother ~ he's semi nonverbal ~ is the same way with things, he just wants to make sure that things are happening and that nothing has changed because it brings him comfort even if we don't have a "set date" yet. People who don't have or live with an autistic loved one just don't understand what it's like, saying things like " I don't know, we'll see" don't work for autistic individuals. Love your family and what you stand for. Keep up the great work

I'm currently renting and am only 2 months into my lease. I'm pretty happy here, I have no intent to move anytime soon, but I look on Zillow and at local rentals and houses on Facebook marketplace pretty frequently anyway. I have multiple family members who do the same, despite not actively looking to move either. Sometimes my sister sends me listings of expensive houses that get listed in our area just so we can kind of ooo and ahh at them. Or of strange decor choices, or of houses that people we know lived in 20 years ago so I can see how it's been updated since we saw it years ago, etc. It seems like a fairly common pastime to enjoy. It seems to me from watching some of your videos that Jess shares this "hobby", except she also realizes that you're going to move someday so that makes it a bit more exciting/interesting for her to talk about as it's more real for her than it is for many others who don't have plans to move at all. She clearly enjoys the discussions so it's confusing to me that people think it is somehow bad.

Val, you are way more patient than I would be with people, that’s why I don’t have a KZbin channel or Instagram with my son. My grandson has Autism as well and my daughter said there is no way she could do what you do. It seriously is not anyone’s business how you interact with Jess..even if they do have a son or daughter on the spectrum, they are individuals and they all think and feel differently. I just get so upset when people in my life act like Robbie isn’t able to function like someone who is 31 years old. He’s so very intelligent..like Jess is, and very observant. I also think he has bionic hearing because every time I try to whisper something to someone, he comes to me right away and asks about it..lol. I so sorry that people have upset you so much that you can’t sleep, please just try to let things bounce off you as much as you can. Stress really wreaks havoc on the immune system and these days we all need to be as healthy as possible. Says the retired nurse with 5 autoimmune diseases! So maybe because Jess will obsess over moving & all that goes into it, or anything that worries her for that matter, the best thing to do is give a good enough answer that it doesn't consume her which in turn consumes you all that live with her, right? I deal with ruminating on things occasionally & it would help to have someone who could help me stop or interrupt those thoughts because it does consume me sometimes. I hope people can understand you are doing what's best for Jess' & everyone's quality of life there when you answer her the way you do. You know Jess best.

I'm sure I recall in videos in the past you have gestured in the background that you weren't moving. This while Jess was discussing finding a new home. That could be the why, for those comments. However, Val, I'm not sure why people have to question you on how and why when it comes to raising your family. I agree with how you have outgrown your home because I owned one just like yours, same lay out, exactly the same layout. I tried to raise 3 Sons with my husband and run a drywall company out of her. Small was an understatement. Lol. I'm curious, does anyone lay in bed and dream of winning the lottery or hitting it rich at some point to be able to move into their perfect dream home, drive their perfect car? I have and I believe everyone should be able to do that. And if your blessed enough to be able to have things fall into place for a move then more power to you. Jess may have childlike actions your right, her language is not childlike. No one has a brain like hers, shit, no one has the same brain period! We are all different. So encouraging Jess about a move that may or may not happen is no body's business but yours. Although the way the economy is family's are moving in together just to get by and sometimes that requires a larger accommodation. Keep being you, the best Mom for Jess. We love and respect you for it!!!

You know I see these other Facebook pages about autism and sometimes theres a 10 paragraph disclaimer and Explanation of the most commonly asked questions. And it’s a sad thing that y’all have to constantly explain. I’ve enjoyed your videos immensely and your family seems like a part of mine! It just breaks my heart the way there’s so many negative comments after somebody watches just one of your videos . They need to just watch you for a while and they’ll learn a lot and get their questions answered without having to be nasty to you. Val, Keep up the good work. And I hope the next thing I say, doesn’t get a black mark against my name. But my old grandma had a saying. When any of her 17 grandkids were dealing with someone’s negativity, She would point her bony finger at us and say “Honey, don’t let the bastards get you down”! I grew up remembering her sage advice. Now I am that old grandma 🤣😆😬💜

I don’t get why people think they know more than the people living Autism or any other disorder. They don’t know Jessica like you know Jessica. Even the professionals don’t know her and her way of coping like you do. It’s amazing how people think they can tell you how to talk to Jess. Every time I watch your videos I am astonished at some comment that shows me that Jessica has more going on in that complicated little brain than I thought. You can only know how to relate with her by being around her 24/7. Not every autistic kid is the same with the same intelligence. That’s what makes them unique! She knows complicated things, but at the same time she needs prompts when doing something as simple as taking a shower. Thank God we aren’t all alike. This world would be soooooo boring.

I'm so so sorry people feel the need to know the ins and outs of your entire life and decisions 😔 its uncomfortable to read some people's questions they ask you, most of them need not be asked. I hope that oneday these people will come back across their questions to you and realise they are not only rude and Intrusive but also none of their business then maybe they will do the decent thing and apologise to you. As much as we all appreciate all of your vlogs and love being part of your lives it by no means gives any of us the right to know private stuff within your house hold. I'm so sorry you encounter this so much truely I am. Namast'e lovely family. Never stop manifesting, never stop dreaming and never stop drawing that beautiful new home into all your lives xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I can’t believe how invested strangers are in other folks business. It’s as if whatever they do affects you and it doesn’t. Jess is loved, cared for and happy what’s there to question? Some y’all take more patience to tend to than toddlers. 🤦🏽♀️ ETA: The majority of comments and subbies here and wonderful 😉😎

I’m still floored about the things people ask you. My mom always said “if you don’t have anything nice to say, move over, I wanna hear it” I’m playing, just don’t say it if it isn’t nice and sounds obtrusive…geez.

I am currently in the process of moving house, I get my keys tomorrow. My youngest son is well aware my eldest son with Aspergers and OCD is not aware. I will tell him the day I need him to physically get up and leave this house and go to our new house. Any sooner and he won't cope.

I think some people must not be honest with there kids which is fine but don't think that some keep things from there kids either. If there r some issues regardless if u try to hide them or not ur kids pick up on it even when u don't discuss things in the home. My son catches things and brings them up at random and he don't have the medical issues Jess has. So I don't get y people can't let u parent how u want when they parent how they want. I mean u know more about Jess then any of us watching so clearly some don't realize what comes along with her all together. If u thought it upset her I don't think u would say it but clearly she gets that it's crowded that's alot for one household. No matter the size of the house. But it's what is needed for Jess to have the life she has and the help she has as well. I hope u have a good day don't let these people get u down parent how u see fit!

Real super heroes don't wear capes or skin tight costumes, they don't fly and they aren't perfect. Real super heroes are patient, respectful , understanding. Their super powers are not the ones you see in movies or on tv. As a matter of fact you may not even know they are super heroes until you get to know them better because they will deny that they are anything special at all. They are so acustom to being super that it's just who they are they don't give it a second thought. Val you and your family are super heroes. Not just for each other but also for your followers. Thank you
