I believe the peanut butter should have been added to the "liquid" chocolate mixture before the oats...by adding the oats to the mixture it completely cooled it down and did not allow the peanut butter to melt correctly making for a dry mixture

No bake chocolate oatmeal cookies Lay out your wax paper (long) In a pot add : 2 cups of sugar 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder 1 stick of butter 1/2 cup of milk 1 teaspoon of vanilla mix all ingredients well in a pot and cook at full boil for one minute (stir while boiling so the sugar doesn’t melt) remove from heat add 1/2 cup of peanut butter until melted this is done quickly as well then add 3 cups of oats (I use the quick one minute oats after mixed together while still hot drop by teaspoon on your wax paper.

I love the no bake cookies but my favorite are the oatmeal raisin with nuts. Val I think the peanut butter would be added as soon as you take it off the stove so it doesn’t cool the mix too quickly. Also I want to say appreciate Good daddy so much. It takes a strong man to stay and support the family with his time and energy. You all are kind and polite with each other. We need more of this in this world.

I’ve been making these forever. I melt 1 stick of butter in the pan, then add 2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup milk and 4 Tbls cocoa. Boil 1 minute. Take off stove and add 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 cup peanut butter stir, then add 3 cups oatmeal. Turns out perfectly every time. When I noticed no butter at first and 1 cup peanut butter…😱 But they were still good!! 😋
@Shaping_Serenity3 жыл бұрын
I looked at several different recipes. A couple of the called for 1 cup peanut butter. Since I love pb, I wanted the extra. 😄 Also, the recipe didn’t call for butter. Anyway, I’ll definitely be trying it differently next time. Thanks for your recipe!

Hey can I make a suggestion. With these cookies it’s always good to have all ingredients measured out. And cook for only 1 min. And stir the whole time so sugar does not burn. When it’s done with boiling stir in peanut butter to melt completely but fast. Oh and peanut butter should be about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup. Then add the oats. But this recipe is just a quick going recipe. But I am sure they taste just as good. I would sure still eat the whole pot. Lol I will send u my recipe. It always is great!

Def those old fashioned oats. They suck up so much more moisture than the instant oats. I was also thinking possibly the chunky peanut butter, as that usually has a much thicker consistency than traditional creamy peanut butter. Either way, they look good, like oatmeal bars. I remember we used to sneak into the fridge and take fingerfulls, my mom would get so mad 😠 at us kid's.
