I enjoyed it! Minnie's voice was perfect. I especially like the use of minnie saying"you know where I come from"....That was gold. Also the use of minnie's voice to help explain some of the more trickier lathing operations makes it that more enjoyable than some voice droning on about how to do this. The fact that you can turn out such a professional piece of work on a small lathe means that people can see that "minnie" lathes aren't all bad. You're engraving is something else! Everytime I write something the person reading it says I should have been a doctor! Keep up the brilliant work!

Thanks sparkie, yeah these lathes take a lot of tuning & adjustment to get a decent result. I pity new buyers that think they can turn stuff straight outa the box. I've noticed the new, blue machines hitting the market are so sub-standard that they're not even worth considering seconds, fourths, fifths maybe. It seems they have slapped all their reject parts together & flogged them off to unsuspecting buyers, what you recon? Regards stevoh

@@stevohdee8118 I run a Hare and Forbes al 336 and it needed a lot of adjusting to get it to work correctly. The best thing is it has headstock adjustment which make a huge difference to prevent taper turning!

@@sparkiekosten5902 that's nice to know, seen your model around, thought it looked fairly decent, I'm surprised you had hassles with it. Might be a common thing with some brands hey.

Steve, is there any kind of drawing available? I'd sure like to make a couple of those. My mini sure isn't as pushy as yours, well maybe she did want a full CNC upgrade. Thanks for the video!

@@stevohdee8118 I did not, but I thought it was such a wonderful topic! The vid was fantastic! I had to sharpen my pencil and about wore it to a nub taking notes! You have seemingly solved many of the issues that plague these little machines. You were spot on with "they are good, but are a project in themselves." I do love my little guy. Just need to change the bed for a larger one. I have the 7x10 (really 7x8). Saving my pennies for the LMS upgrade!

This is probably the third time I have watched this and I still marvel at what you were able to accomplish with a POS Chineseium Mini Lathe. Minnie or no Minnie, using hand ground cutting tools no less. I also have to agree with another commenter about your free hand engraving skills. World Class there mate. So since it's still Christmas over here in The States, Merry Christmas to you sir . I'm wondering if you would consider sharing your hard earned skills and maybe record some quick tutorials on a couple of simple projects for relative newbies? That hand cut taper for the handle tells me you have been at this for quite a while. That isn't something even an apprentice is going to pull off without a lot of practice.

Thanks Phil for your great message, I'm still learning stuff myself and I'm sure top machinists are huffing at my techniques haha. But we do what we can with whatever tools we have, I just enjoy figuring out how to do stuff. Got a neat little easy gadget vid almost done editing I think you'll enjoy, cheers mate & merry xmas

Channel has awesome projects, great tool designs and cool editing but creepy AF. a disembodied voice that, quite honestly, seems to come off as a someone from a purposeful unseen hiding place, probably buried in a homemade dungeon, suffering Stockholm syndrome. I know it's a "skit"? I guess. Not everyone can be as funny as "This Old Tony". But, it's even a cooler channel on mute. Sorry, mate but...it is creepy.
