Auto-Furling...Engage!

You've heard us talk many times about our patented furling capabilities here at Harmony Turbines, and we've manually demonstrated it on many occasions. But we've never been able to see it in action without human intervention. Let's check in with Chris (and Cheryl) to see what they observed!

nice to see all the updates. I can see many places this could work well especially when you hit those high winds between two tall buildings. It is nice to see people working on relitively small city wind turbines. a biger delay on opening is a good idea.. along with a dead range where turbine speed drops so slow before it unfurls with maybe a time delay that will need to be adjusted for each area since some places have more stable wind while other have more gusty winds. I love all the updates

That camera mount bouncing all over the place in the wind really made it look like the whole thing was vibrating from the rotational forces. Interesting optical illusion there. Nvm, on 2nd look the top of that cage is definitely getting its workout in, might wanna check for stress fractures sometime.

Looks like you need to work on dynamic balancing of the rotating parts. (like is done with a car wheel and tire.) The aluminum frame will stress crack at the welds with prolonged oscillation.

Was the frame of the turbine shaking as the speed increased or was it the camera shaking? Congratulations on seeing your furling mechanism work!

Probably easier said than done, but instead of relying of heat dumps could the furl setting be controlled by the battery’s level of charge? Then instead of incurring needless wear and tear when the batteries are full, the turbine could fully furl and remain idle until the batteries are sufficiently discharged. Likely not an original idea, but I figured I may as well throw it out there!

hopefully eventually you are using the furling/unfurling instead of burning juice on a dump load.
