The Millennials Shibuya (ザ・ミレニアルズ渋谷) is a unique capsule hotel in Tokyo, Japan (東京のユニークなカプセルホテル). This time, I slept in an automatic reclining bed called the Smart Pod (スマートポッドという自動リクライニングベッド). You can adjust the brightness of the room and switch between bed and sofa reclining with a rental iPod. This company has other branches in Kyoto and Fukuoka as well (京都と福岡).
Tokyo is a city with very high accommodation costs, so it is recommended for those who are looking for cheap accommodation other than Manga Cafes.
☆★☆This is what it was actually like!☆★☆
--The Millennials Shibuya--
* The Wi-Fi was super fast.
* Who took away my bottle of green tea that I had just bought while I was drinking a glass of beer in the lounge?
* There was a messy room with a lot of luggage that clearly shows that the guest is staying for a long time.
* The bed was a double bed, and there were two pillows, but there was a warning not to bring anyone else in.
* The name of that bed, Smart Pod, is so cool.
* The Smart Pod's alarm can force a sleeping person to wake up, as the bed automatically reclines and the lights are turned on.
* The ceiling of the room is 2.3m (7.5 ft) high and the bed is 120cm (47 inch) wide, so it's spacious enough.
A challenge to visit every country in the world... "Japan" is the "1st" country that I visited out of all the 196 counties in the world.

I like that they had a floor for women, it makes it safer for females travelling alone. Everything is so clean as well, and convenient. I wish they had places like this in the UK, sometimes you might just need it for a night and the little touches like the workstations and free bread in the morning are a bonus!

@@endoftime0 I know it's a difficult concept to understand, but "equality" does not always mean "the same treatment" In this case, helping women feel safe as a male would while travelling (well, at least help remove the fear of sexual assault, the other fears like getting lost that everyone has can't be so easily solved)
@bluecube675
@bluecube675 2 жыл бұрын
@@PandaCake978 I think the word you're looking for is equity, not equality. By definition, equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities. Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome. I'm not saying that having a separate floor for women is a bad idea; it's actually really cool to see. Whether we should be striving for equity or equality as a society is up for debate but I just thought I would share the difference.

Europe needs to take note. This is how clean accomodation should be. I've been to many places in the UK and even 4star hotels have grubby stained rooms. And your paying more to stay in these grubby rooms compared to what you pay in Japan. Japan just do it right, and they think about what the customer needs, I love all the lil touches they do. 👍

But our hotels are not worse. And their cost is much cheaper. They are also larger and more comfortable. They have normal-sized rooms, lockable doors and their own separate kitchen in the room. Own bathroom. A room in Japan is like a toilet cubicle. No privacy.

I love the fact that it is just a 5min walk from the scramble and close to everything Shibuya. At the time, the price is $70 per night. I wish it's $27! like when you stayed. Thanks for covering this capsule hotel. Highly recommended, best and first capsule hotel I stayed!

I wish we had hotels like this in the UK, I am from Scotland. My only problem would be the closing curtain. I would want to do that I could lock, as I would worry someone would open my door at night and steal all my belongings, or worse! Fantastic concept. I wish they had clean rooms like this in Vegas without the resort fee that you could book. I’d gladly stay there instead of overpriced hotels
