Thanks for this video! One important question: how do I lock the height of the text box, so that only the width adjusts when typing. I'm asking this because the text box auto resize doesn't work when not typing in caps lock.

Hmm it's been a while for me but what seems to be happening? The expression is based on the text box so it shouldn't change the height. Does it just break?

This is a fantastic tutorial. I just made one of my own! How do we prepare it for use within Premiere as an Essential graphic the way you have it?

hey, I was wondering if it would be possible to link a separate accent layer to the same text box properties. everytime i try it the accent line moves incrementally further from the text.
@KYLERHOLLAND3 жыл бұрын
hmmm. You should be able to as long as you can link to the position data. You'll have to do some testing on that one.

how to make the background follow the size of the logo animation ???
@MusicofKarakoram5 жыл бұрын
Doing step by step but there's error for expression. "After effects warning: Expression disabled . Error at line 0 in property "Size" of the layer 1 ('TEXT BOX') in comp 'Test name strip' Object of type Layer found where a Number, Array, or Property is needed. " Secondly when i type "s, w, or h" no options appear for "source, width or height". I am using Pro CC 2018

You can type the code out manually to get the source width and height commands. If that's not working you can start the code as a variable such as var s= and var w= and var h= that will make those letters follow the rest of the code! For the array, I'll need to see your code so I can troubleshoot! If you'd like to send me a picture on instagram, I'd be happy to help

@@KYLERHOLLAND i have tried and its not working. i have sent you the picture on instagram, please see to it and let me know what i am doing wrong. i think when i click "enter" after the first code, it does not change to "code 2" or "row 2" as it does in your video. Is that the reason for it? If so, can you please tell me how to fix it. Thanks!

Use square brackets [ ] when defining an array. So, type [w,h] instead of (w,h).

As a programmer, it hurts that you're not storing the sourceRectAtTime in a variable
@KYLERHOLLAND5 жыл бұрын
You could certainly do that as well. Var was not needed to create the code!

@@KYLERHOLLAND the letter assignment is also a variable

@@dunste123 I just wanted to simply it instead of writing var s, var w, and var h. Both ways will work!
