Auto run vba project When an Excel Workbook is opened

How to auto-run a VBA project when an Excel workbook is opened. A simple but profound question whose answer is not easily available on the internet or Google as experienced by Alex. The answer is simple - first create your macro, then add a single line of VBA code to 'ThisWorkbook' in the VBA editor that accesses the macro when the workbook is opened!

This is a tutorial from 2012, and hard to believe that this (in 2020!) is my answer to a simple question (if you know the trick) for automatically run multiple macro's when opening a workbook. You have to save your file as a macro enabled fie. After creating the file click on save as... In the save options give your file name as usual Now in the Save as Type section click on the drop-down arrow and select: Excel Macro Enabled-Workbook (*.xlsm)

This is the best video i've found so far on this question, but you are a bit of a boring unthoughtful robot, no need to display the date and in a particular format.., just do a messagebox to display "asdf", that way you can get right to the point of the actual video which is to run the macro automatically.

Find the XLStart folder like so: Alt+F11 to the visual basic editor Ctrl+G to the immediate window Type ?Application.StartupPath and press Enter will give you the personal XLSTART and Place your Excel file in the XLSTART folder that you wish to open every time you start Excel.

Finally you can do this: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup C:\Users\takyar\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup Place the shortcut to excel.exe and your file in this folder. Replace the username and path according to your computer. I've Windows 10 and Excel 2016.
