Auto Transformer Starter Power Wiring Connection Explained

Auto transformer starter for 3-phase induction motor
An Auto transformer Starter is suitable for both star and delta connected motors. In this method, the starting current is limited by using a three-phase auto transformer to reduce the initial stator applied voltage. The figure below shows the motor with the Auto transformer starter.
It is provided with a number of tapping. The starter is connected to one particular tapping to obtain the most suitable starting voltage.
The starting current 6 to 8 times the rated current and this can cause voltage dip in supply and also motor and motor-driven equipment experience large torque surge which can damage the motor as well as connected equipment. Three-phase auto transformer is used to reduced high inrush starting current.

Hi,initially ,Autotransformer contactor and star contactor will on with the help of star / Delta timer .After 2 to 3 second Delta timer on and star timer off and Main contactor will be on ... So motor will run in delta means.. I hope you will correct it ...

Hello. My father has a sawmill but after not using it for a while now there is a problem. When turned on it humming/buzzing but engine does not rotate. Engine uses 3 phases and all of it coming to the main fuses. Saw is rotating easily with hand so it's not jammed. I am not an expert in motors but I have a little bit experience in electronics. In electric box I saw that there is a autotransformer? (with SSRS tag :D) and it looks rusted/corroded so I guess there is a problem with it. Could it cause such a problem that engine is buzzing and not start? Maybe someone could help and say what should I check to find a problem? (I have multimeter so I can check continuity/measure voltages etc.)

wrong wiring you got three leds and you have star shouldn't the motor be six leads
