Of the three main parties contesting the election I found Manoj Tiwari, Bharatiya Janata Party “BJP” the most easily accessible leader. One of the other party’s leaders kept us and another news crew waiting for almost 5 hours and then would only give 20-minute of his time. The biggest drawback I found for Aam Aadmi Party in the colonies of Delhi was Delhi Jal Board. Whilst the cost of water had been reduced, water supply was often infrequent and septic water was entering the system. Although this is a state issue many of the voters confused this with MCD election. The BJP won 181 seats, whilst AAP won 48 and the Congress 30 seats. Each time elections are held in Delhi they bring up remarkably different results from previous elections. Delhi has population larger than Australia. It was not an easy win for the BJP given it had to beat anti-incumbency. BJP masterstroke was to give tickets to only new candidates and hence overall only 15 councillors from the last term have made it again to the civic bodies. There are 255 new faces ruling the three Corporations, so interesting times ahead for all of these new councillors. BJP Delhi
